Muggins

Player Valuation: £60m
Good afternoon fellow blues, I hope all is well.

I never usually even look at formation threads but I can't help not now as we've actually got loads of players and even new ones.

Now it seems imminent Lukaku is leaving,

Can I see some exciting formations from you football manager types please...??

*Apologies if there is already a dedicated thread since all the new arrivals.

As thing stands I suppose our most common formation will be:

Pickford
Holgate Williams Keane Baines
Gana Schneiderlin Klaassen
Mirallas Sandro Rooney

Coleman and Bolasie will be first teamers when fit.

Do we have another option? Kenny will feature in cups and Europe. Don't think he's seen as ready to play in the league week in, week out.
Every single time he's appeared for the first team, he's looked better than Holgate ever has at right back.

But Martina will be our RB in all likelihood until Seamus comes back.

Beginning to think Martina is a smokescreen for another target. He's available on a free - it would have been done by now if we were serious.

Personally I would go with the inverted 2-1-3-2-2 Trapezium. It has its roots in Portugeuse youth football and is said to be the final frontier in the search for the perfect formation

It creator Carlos uquivea said this:

"Mitico, mitico, il mio preferito...questo invirti 16 anni è veramente un Grande formatio. Una profondità di sapori speziati, ma sempre equilibrati tra loro, al palato pungente al punto giusto, da serata con un bel trancio di salmone in crosta di patate."

Pickford - Holgate Williams Keane Baines - Gueye Schneiderlin Davies - Rooney Klaassen - Sandro
4-3-2-1
I think we need one big name striker in, another centre back and more wide options, as even when all our wide players are fit, they are still rubbish.
I'd like Rooney as more of a bit-part player, certainly not an automatic starter, and Williams for me isn't good enough (same as Jagielka)...

Rooney not a starter for me. He would not get a look in for the 6 clubs ahead of us. We need another striker. Next summer we will need another CB and LB. A decent striker alongside Sandro and that is pretty strong although reliant on an inexperienced Kenny and an old Baines to provide width.

Pickford
Kenny Williams Keane Baines
Gueye Morgan Klassen
Barkley
Sandro ?

...............pickford
coleman williams keane baines
..........gana....schneiderlin
mirallas.....klassen.......bolasie
................rooney

..............stekelenburg
Kenny Holgate jags garbutt
.........mccarthy besic
sandro.......davies.......lookman
............... lewin

leaving just pennington and barry

I think barkley robles mori mcgeady lennon niasse and rodriguez will all be moved on.
I wouldn't be shocked if we signed a lb, a cb, a rw and a striker.
