The year's almost over, and as you all know I love making charted lists almost as much as I love music, so the big end of year music list was inevitable.

[Poor language removed] the Grammys, this is the Roofies ©.

Top 5 Most Disappointing Albums of the Year

5.) The Human League -Credo

I wish classic, ace bands would stop coming back to make utter sh*te..

4.) The Vaccines - What Did You Expect from the Vaccines?

... a bit more to be honest.

3.) Foo Fighters - Wasting Light

It's just quite empty and vapid really. They've done it all before, and much better.

2.) Little Dragon - Ritual Union

Third time unlucky. Good in parts but a massive step back from their stellar first and second efforts.

1.) Radiohead - The King of Limbs

It's still a good album, and it pains me to put it here, but it was a ultimately a disappointment. Radiohead putting out something that wasn't groundbreaking or just downright exceptional was something I'd never experienced before.

So then GOT peeps, what songs and albums have gripped you this year? What's surprised you? What's let you down? This place needs more music talk FFS.

Disappointed Trivium are not in the "Most Disappointing Albums", really.

They actually were in there mate, but I thought as I'm falling out of love with metal anyway my opinion may be a bit clouded. So I took it out and put the Human League in. I forgot about that piece of sh*t.

Oh, is right. I'm quite the opposite - when I was just starting to fall out of love with metal - watched a few documentaries (of all things, really) and got even more pumped up and found some epic sh*t that I had no clue existed.

Maybe this is too mainstream for your (very good) music taste, but Noel Gallagher's High Flying birds' album was like vintage Oasis.

I still adore certain kinds like. Math/progressive metal for example is the shiz.

But, at the risk of sounding like a bad indie tit, mainstream metal/metalcore is something I have grown to hate these days.

I never really was an Oasis fan mate, but I've been meaning to give it a listen. It's not that they were too mainstream though, haha. I was just a bit more Blur I guess.

Yay music thread!

You're a sinner. Some of Blur's stuff was good, just their image of being 'one of the boys' who go to Malia on holiday does my head in when Damon Albarn played the violin and composed classical music as a kid.

I'd say only Morning Glory and Definitely Maybe are better than NGHFB's album. Noel's definitely better off without Liam (who's a massive bell end)

I'll be honest. I'm dissapointed Radiohead haven't got ther usual honourable mention.

Great stuff Oxon. The fact that I listed all that stuff and didn't have space for The War on Drugs, Bomb the Music Industry or F*cked Up shows what a good year it's been for music. Or at least mine!
