howard's had his best season since he's been here IMO, i've not always been a massive fan, needs to stay on his line more though

'Everton had the second best defensive record at home in the league, conceding just 15 goals at Goodison Park all season'.

Shows how much we need Fellaini. I believe his recent starts at AM are his doing. He has always wanted to play that position, and while I prefer him further back, we have to keep the big man happy.

I wish Donovan had enough information to be analyzed

Bottom line is...jelavic saved our season

Additionally, stats wise Rodwell's is slightly better than Gibson, scoring more goals, completing more passes, winning more tackles. He also created more chances - 7 compared to Gibson's 4.

Opposite for me, think hes been very average this year. His lack of aerial and box command is very worrying. His shot stopping - never in doubt, but he needs to improve his command. We've lost a few goals just through poor communication.

Can't forgive him for the shocker he had at Wigan, gifting them a point.

He's made more howlers, but also pulled off some great saves.

But I think why he's had a successful season stats wise is mainly down to the team not allowing the opposition shots on goal. We were the top team in the league for allowing the fewist shots against

The difference in goals conceded per game with Heitinga playing is startling. He definitely deserved his PotS award.

Great analyses here, thanks for posting!!!!

Fellaini + Gibson = monster midfield
Pienaar + Jelavic = saved our season
Tim Howard = better than people gave him credit for
Our Defense = stellar
Leon Osman = a central creative machine (who is wasted out on the right)
And if we could only get LD here, we might actually have creators on both wings, fancy that.

Good stuff.

–Marouane Fellaini won more tackles, ground duels, aerial duels and made more passes than anyone else at the club.

–Marouane Fellaini was also second in the league with 84 tackles, and won the ball 190 times in midfield, by far the most in the top flight.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - he would merrily walk into any midfield in world football. Including Barcelona.

He's criminally underrated and I'm constantly amazed we have someone of his class at Everton and tied down to a long term contract. A genuine wonder of a player.

he likes it here...but would defo be off like a shot if anyone came sniffing.

Well make a mint though

Moyes will have/will read this. The throughballs stat at the end is the most worrying. I think we know this is where Moyes will be looking to fix things. We cross plenty, but I think Jelavic will thrive off intelligent balls through the defence too.

This will make us a lot less one dimensional.

Most definitely. Except a lot of other club's fans say that he is "lanky", "dopey", and "awkward". No one watches enough Everton games. I genuinely believe he is consistently the best midfielder in the league.

But we all know this. And hopefully he can keep staying under-rated.

yep 100% agreement, shared this belief for a good couple of season, to say i was shocked when he signed a 5 year contract with us is an understatement.

yep, he's not the worst in the air but i reckon he'll score a lot more goals with his feet with us, is always peeling off the last defender, sadly due to the poor assistant levels in this league, he hasnt had a couple of more goals
