1st time visitor to Liverpool, England

Hello all. I am an American who will be making my first trip across the pond to catch an Everton match and see the country of England and Germany. What are the main points of interest while In Liverpool and Berlin.

...Liverpool City Centre is a good place to be these days, plenty of great pubs, restaurants, culture and people. Just turn up, do a tour of the pubs and you'll have a ball.

The Lisbon is a must visit place, as mentioned above, also if you go the Kurzon after about 11pm this is also a great bar to visit.

There is the museums on the waterfront, and the ferry on the Mersey there as well. Nice day out if you did that.

If you want a drink head to Matthew Street and visit the pubs there including the cavern. Get a hit of nostalgia to our music of yesteryear.

As an ulster blue who travels over to most home games, i have to say liverpool is the best place ever, reasonable prices and the friendliest people you could hope to meet

Anglican cathedral is a marvellous building, think it wasn't finished until the late 70's , it took years to build I believe and imo is worth a walk around.

If you want a drink head to Matthew Street and visit the pubs there including the cavern. Get a hit of nostalgia to our music of yesteryear.

I'd say take a look at Mathew St then head for decent pubs like the Roscoe Head, The Belvedere, Peter Kavanagh's, The Ship and Mitre etc. Rigby's is a good Evertonian pub for an after-match drink. The Swan is ace if you like rock music and want to see what it was like to drink in Liverpool in the 70s and 80s. The Philharmonic is a must-see, I suppose...

Over 100 years to build I think mate.
The architect who built it spent his whole life on that single project.
