Vaughan - Gone

The way I see it we need 4 first team players for the starting 11 and 3 backups at a MINIMUM.

A few things;

A -- Rodwell and Felliani could potentially be a fantastic partnership BUT need a destroyer behind them -- Parker / Barton ?

B -- Where is our Kanchelskis? The closest we have to a wide midfielder who takes people on is Coleman -- we need a fast young winger with raw pace like the Dutch youngster linked on here.

C -- Need a goalkeeper who actually challenges Howard, Westwood?

D -- We need a TOP young defender who can form a good partnership with Jagielka? We could have got Subotic or Vertonghen in the last few seasons but never followed through.

E -- How close are Bidwell and Garbutt to be able to cover our left flank ? Can Mustafi and Duffy be blooded as 3rd and 4th choice cover ?

F -- Johnson and Yakubu -- Great acquisitions by Moyes but sadly destroyed through no fault of their own. We need a top young forward.....

80s / 90s / 00s -- We had players who we would go to the game to watch and we'd see their names on the back of shirts, recently Limpar/Kanchelskis/Parkinson/Ferguson....right now we have Baines and Fellaini who are worth the admission fee....these are arguably players in defensive positions.

WE NEED TO SIGN PLAYERS WHO EXCITE THE FANS AND ENCOURAGE US TO GO TO THE GAMES -- WE WANT TO BE ENTERTAINED.

I want a young, exciting, innovative fast ball playing team who I don't worry about conceding ridiculous goals to crap teams and I am confident we can score more than a goal a game.

Surely everyone wants this too and if we have to SELL 11 players to enable us to start rebuilding a new team then I'm more than happy to have 1 or 2 transitional seasons....

Welcome mate, loads to talk about there.

Not sure i agree with the notion of getting ride of our most important players ( Cahill, Arteta )

I know what you mean, the issue we have is that;

Bilyaletdinov / Heitinga are the only 2 we could sell for real money....as opposed to Distin/Yobo/Yak etc fetching peanuts.

I feel than Arteta and Cahill -- even if they are fantastic for the next 2 seasons will soon be worth nothing and we will then be left with absolutely nothing....

Selling 11 players in one hit would be a MASSIVE gamble but one I think we should take -- we'd also potentially save a fortune in salaries if we went for young players with potential.

Probably too much to write down there but for a first post i wanted to get it all out :)

I think a couple of those on the 'get-rid' list shouldn't be there but I agree with the notion of bringing in exciting, entertaining players - but most of these players are expensive. Hey maybe Gueye will turn into a genius on the left flank? Wishful thinking indeed.

Would be interesting to learn how far Gueye, Bidwell and Garbutt are from at least being decent impact players / backup...those 3 + Duffy and Mustafi would mean we've got 5 players as cover to boost the squad if they are potentially able to step up this season now and again.

Could be done over a period of time rather than in one go, however onm that list who would we actually miss ?

Distin -- Crap 1st season Very good last season-- partnership with jags hardly fantastic

Heitinga -- Great 1st season and crap last season....don't think Moyes fancies him next to Jags.

Arteta -- Disaster this season, for the 10mil or so we would get for him we could find a younger replacement

Cahill -- Great with his head, contributes nothing other than a will to win when he doesnt score

1.) Distin and Jags' partnership has been fantastic. Most of our problems have stemmed from us being caught on the break, or gifting the ball back to the opposition. Jags and Distin have formed a very good partnership -- as good as anything since Lescott before. To think we could replace Distin easily is to be very optimistic. To think we wouldn't miss him is to be plain foolish.

2.) People who dismiss Arteta after one (comparatively) poor season are people I want to kick firmly in the nuts. We just need to find a way to fit him into the team alongside Fellaini. His talent hasn't gone anywhere.

It's all very well saying we need this massive overhaul that you have displayed so well.

However, this is Everton and we don't do that. We'd be lucky to see three new faces and I think we all know it.

Welcome none the less.

1 -- I have to disagree with you. YES Distin has been fantastic as an individual, he has made a few errors and shaken the 'Dustbin' tag....however, I would say for all of his imperious headers and great tackles and positioning I don't see how he and Jags have worked so well together.

To elaborate on why I think we should offload him, he 'may' have a couple of seasons left in him but then his resale is zero. On top of this Lescott and even Heitinga are ball players, every great team historically have had one superb defender (Jagielka) with a ball playing defender next to them -- Recently see Ferdinand/Vidic, Carvalho/Terry and Pique/Puyol .....

How I wish we could have signed Vertonghen with the Lescott money.

2 -- Correct, one poor season doesn't write off a player. However for an outlay of 75k a week along with the potential resale value we could receive immediately for him I personally feel we should use this to bring in a young player....however he performs next season, due to his age his resale value will surely decrease and in a similar fashion to cahill i think now is the time to bring in young replacements....ideally we would bring in players slowly to replace Arteta and Cahill, however we have no money so they would have to be directly replaced.

Welcome Lid..

Personally I think we need to:

Get Rid: Yakubu/ Yobo/ Bilyaletidinov/ Heitenga

Get In: Proven Striker/ (N'Zogbia-Donovan) <-Or Both :) / Cover at fullback.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm not sure about this summer, I've worked with people who have had Moyes character before....after his sweeping statements about the best team we've had etc etc and how we're looking at the top 4 he has himself admitted that we need a clinical finisher.

The only way we will be able to afford one is to sell players.

He has also recognised the effect Donovan had when he was with us -- again wingers cost money

He has played Neville at defensive midfield as Fellaini looks more of a box to box player as does rodwell....he has 2 potentially world class midfielders there who need a defensive pit bull behind them -- again these cost money

He surely must sell to bring in a forward/winger/defensive midfielder at the very least -- or risk the total embarrassment of making a fool of himself (which is, I'm sure how he feels after his comments at the start of the season) next season.

Moyes is a winner, this team is not winning = time for a change.

we can't write Arteta off, he's still a boss he's just a had a poor season, he showed us he's still got it against Chelski last week.

It's all opinions mate. Just don't be surprised/upset when it doesn't happen.

Sell Vaughan, Yobo, Yakubu, Mucha, Heitinga, Bilyaletdinov and Anichebe and squeeze every possible penny out of Kenwright. 10 pence you say? Alright, squeeze a bit harder.

Sign Douglas Franco Texeira (FC Twente), Georginio Wijnaldum (Feyenoord), Kevin de Bruyne and Jelle Vossen (Genk), Demba Ba and Charles N'Zogbia.

Add a couple of Bosmans to it:
David Vaughan
Obinna
Westwood(???)

Sorted, it's not really rocket science, now is it?
