If ever a match showed the fundamental differences between our support and that Spurs it was that one. The cocky southern b******ds flipped once they realised they were hopelessly outnumbered (they hadn't even sold out their allocation). Our support was incredible.
it was an amazing day, when Spurs got teh soft peno I thought here we go, but the crowd roared the team on to a real thrashing.
Aaaaah wonderful memories, like the madeleine cake in Proust

I remember meeting the BBC pundits Bobby Charlton and Jimmy Hill and both tipped Everton to win. When they were in their commentary box with the BEEB they chose Spurs. Jurgen Klinnsmans golden boot presented to the man himself on the day was shown to us outside the ground by a member of staff in the broadcast vehicle. A day I will never forget

.....on a similar note, AB, I was in Everton Supporters Club immediately after the 1970 Championship win. I was 14 and Alan Ball snr let me touch his son's winners medal. Often wonder where that medal is and whether it has my DNA on.

Yep,remember them trying to "invade" the pitch and swinging from the crossbar just before the end?:D

Best day of my life.

How fcking sad is that.

Not sad at all, these days are what make us, and those days should be remembered and cherished.

This is Everton, and this is who we are. The ability to overcome adversity is in our DNA. Ok we don't see it all too often, but it is there.

You know what though, in all seriousness... Was thinking bout this the other day, like most blues/footy fans I enjoy a bevvy with me arl fella watching the match, I was 13 when we won the cup in 95 and was spoilt in the 80's but was a bit young to appreciate it fully, anyway, so was thinking... In my life I have never raised a glass in celebration with him after an Everton trophy win, quite sad really, hopefully can be remedied soon...

I meat its sad, because its 20 years ago......and barely got close to that day in all this time.

In that time, the best days have been away drinking sessions in Europa group stages.....

THAT is sad, for a club our size.
