Would everton have won the european cup in 1986, Gary Lineker believes everton would have been favourites going into the tournament as barca played steaua in the final, Gary believes everton had a much superior team to the two finalists.

My personal opinion, I believe we would of won in 86, but at the same time I believe Liverpool would of won alot more in that decade in europe if we were not band i.e they had a great side 86-90 even thou it hurts to say that. So maybe the r/s done more damage to there trophy haul then ours!

It kills me to think of Gary Lineker and graham sharpe did not get the opportunity to lift that great trophy!

Dont think so. The RS won enough, more than anyone but Manure in the English league (I think, and I dunno about Europe but they're in the top 5).

So Everton having a few glourious years in Europe wouldnt have done much harm.

dont know why it pains you about lineker, as he didnt earn the right to be in it, we wouldve won it though.
he probably only says it cos he was in the team.

does he not say it about '88, no cos he was at barca.
