I reckon that 15% of the language most posters use on here is pure GOT. I cannot be alone in using/reading words on here I'd never use in a million years in real life.

Some examples for me are:

Lid, Gash/Turbo Gash, Trabs and NEA, Not Even Arsed

Anyone else use/see alien lingo on here?!

Agreed. It's the GOT culture.

I love it when one of the American lads use the lingo. Cracks me up to imagine Brad from Accounts in Columbus, Ohio using words like lid and sound on here.

I've met Astro who you may of heard of from here. He's from the American south. Probably the funniest (not laughing at him but rather proud he's embracing it) is when I've heard him use the word 'trabs'

He knows all the lingo, its actually special. I've always said this about our foreign supporters, they proper embrace Everton and what it is to be an Evertonian. Whether thats using the lingo, learning their history, understanding it.

I've told Astro this, i've been with him to a game and the fella next to my ST has been going the match 40 years, the pair of them have the same mentality when it comes to Everton.

The foreign lids on here especially are all like that

I have to catch myself before I let them slip in the real world and I get a bunch of funny looks. Happens pretty regularly.

Normally just refer to them as shoes, training shoes if needed.

Depends on what part if the US you are from. I've always called them tennis shoes even if they are actually air Jordans.

in north england we know them as trainers.


i think ffs is my favourite GOT-lingo...used to always type it out in full before

Turbo Gash? hhahaa reminds me of Cart on Kipper when [Poor language removed] was banned, and slowly it started worming it's way into your mind, and before you knew it you'd hear things at the match like

'[Poor language removed] off Carsley you stupid cart'
And you'd always see 3-4 people look round and piss themselves at it.
