15 Years on, Germany 1, England 5

That'll always be:

Germany 1 - 5 Liverpool in my mind.

One of those games that they claim...they can have it like.
This, I don't care that much about competitive England matches at the best of times (let alone meaningless friendly's) but for me it was beyond the pale to celebrate a result with all the goals coming from that trio of bellends.

Says a lot about England that we still have to celebrate two games 50 and 15 years ago.

And Germany didn't turn up 15 years ago. Freak result, in a match that was of little consequence.

Gets on my wick....That and the 4-1 against the dutch (Who also didn't turn up).

The attitude & self-marketing of England, by it's FA and it's media/punditry (And a load of the far too overenthusiastic fans) on it's bygone days reminds me of some gabshoite or other (Usually kopite) who once did you a trifling favour (amongst a load of let-downs) but they never let you forget it.

I know, just because we get an anomalous result against a team who doesn't show up its a cause for celebration

completely forgetting EVERY major tournament we haven't shown up to, and every time we've been royally pumped by the same teams

they even released a VHS/DVD of the Germany game ffs
