$1200 Roundtrip to London? FFS.

Planning a trip to England, Ireland and Scotland for next July (2015). Typed in the search for plane tickets from Phoenix and it seems it's going to set us back $1200 each. Seems awfully high to me. Any suggestions on a more economical way to travel there? Flights to Dublin are about the same. Malaysian Air doesn't fly from Phoenix.

Seems about right to be honest, £750 or so. July is peak holiday period in the UK.

You should travel a month later or, for cheaper rates, in September 2015.

If it's any consolation I just checked the cost on skyscanner to do the journey the other way. Heathrow to PHX via Atlanta or JFK in July 2015 is coming up as £1263. One way. Per person. Direct flights star at £1494.

As others have said, the price you've found looks good to me.

Yeah, I said the same to the couple that we are traveling with. They actually said, "Don't you want to see the Scotland Yard?" I just face-palmed.
