10 years since the UK smoking ban.

How do you feel about this curtailment of a basic human right?

I am the Michaelangelo of misanthropy
Monstrous abuse of civil liberty - nanny state gone mad I tells ya.
Before you berate me, just bear in mind that it has led to the bellendery called vaping.

I never understood why all pubs needed to have the ban. If some had remained smokers pubs, were anyone who doesn't smoke doesn't have to go what's the problem? Only hire smokers to work the place and problem solved. I think the blanket ban was a bit daft tbh, I agreed with loads of places having bans but a complete outright ban is to far.

This - Each landlord should have been given the choice for their own pub

This one is tough, because I'm much happier that I don't have to endure smoking while I'm trying to eat something somewhere.

Is this enhancement of my life experience worth the sacrifice of your civil liberties? I've loathed having to endure the stink since the age of two, and my Mum might as well have been a cigarette with legs. How many of your liberties am I ready to sacrifice to make my life better? I would have to admit that I would make that sacrifice more readily than I find myself comfortable with intellectually. Such is the universality of human nature.

To further parse the question, I am full on board with any pub or bar owner who would serve the smokers of my area with a smoking-permitted establishment. What is it about our society that would not allow this to happen? I'd never go there, but people should be allowed to make their own decision. De gustibus non disputatum.

This include smoking the beef?

I don't see why not. Visually, it's a beautiful thing. (see below)

As a smoker, Sometimes, you couldn't beat just having a pint and a smoke at the bar but clothes smell better the day after been the pub. Having a smoke in the rain is a pain but prefer smoking outside and was always used to smoking outdoors at home anyway.
