in memoriam - 1961-2023
It's worth raising the possibility of ONE MILLION Fans through the turnstiles at Goodison this season - the last time we achieved this was in 1985 with 1,009,429 , although that included 51,690 for an FA Cup Semi played on the ground.

So far we have attracted:

479,757 for 13 League games (Average 36,904)
212,310 for 6 Cup ties (Average 35,385)

Total: 692,067

With the following games to come:

Portsmouth, Fiorentina (UEFA Cup last 16), West Ham, Derby, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Newcastle.

If we were to achieve an average of 38,500 for these 7 games, a realistic chance I would say, then this would take the total to:

961,567

Leaving us 38,433 short - so if we can get into the UEFA Cup Quarter-Finals then this becomes more than a distinct possibility.

Of course we can always include the Werder Bremen friendly in these numbers!!

Hard to say - obviously Le Arse, Man Ure and The [Poor language removed] top 1 million - Newcastle might if they had any cup success (they probably will to be fair!). Spurs may well do as well - they get about the same numbers as we do but have had more home games in the League Cup for example. I doubt Sunderland or Man City have had enough home games in cups (or sufficient attendances) to achieve the million mark.
