07 / 08 derby - stronger than current side? discuss...

Just seen a repeat of the hibbo / nev red card derby 07/08. I'd forgotten what a strong team we had back then.Yak firing, Mikel in centre & in that match Stubbsy & Lescott solid at the back.
I'm not sure we're a better side now to be honest,fielding a few non premiere std players who weren't much cop five years back.

07-08 was probably the best football we played under Moyes. 04-05 and 08-09 were better achievements but the former we were dogged rather than skilful and in the latter we were so badly hit by injuries we only had our full team available for about two months.

As for whether the current team is stronger than that, we'll find out in may. At full strength, it might just be.
