Well I worked my arse off to get my own house, me and the Mrs were earning less than that between us when we bought our place.

Where would you suggest we draw the line?

It sounds reasonable, yes. Downside: it encourages even more single class neighbourhoods and will lead inevitably to a gradual sink estate effect because the type of people who'll be leaving are those types who usually get the authorities to pull their finger out on poor services and scummy behaviour.

Another step on the road to the Tory dream of gated communities for the well off. Vermin.

Well then surely that's the fault of the rest who don't do so.

Think of all the jobs for the serfs building these gates and fences though Dave. Good for the economy old boy.

Personally I think it's a bit bollocks. The people who are most likely to be able to pay the rent for these properties are being stopped from living there and instead, the taxpayer can pay for Mr and Mrs Jeremy Kyle and the six Kyle children and the three Staffies to live there for free whilst maintaining their busy lifestyle of White Storm cider, rolly ups and Iceland pizza fingers.
