The Now-Irrelevant 2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

IF there are funds available in January, then the board must sack Dyche in the next fortnight and appoint a new manager who can have an opportunity to bring in some of their own players, work with the team and get us safe. If there are no funds available in January, then I would keep Dyche and...

Mate, we literally got the same penalty away to Newcastle last season. No complaints.

What are you on about? He literally grabbed Tonali round the neck and threw him to the ground. It was a rugby tackle. Utterly stupid from our captain of all people. Inexcusable. Would hook him at HT.

    2024/25 Jarrad Branthwaite

It’s the only thing that will stop him becoming a top class centre half. Last thing he needs (and us) is another spell on the sidelines. Back to Mick Kegger and Tarky.

    2024/25 Jarrad Branthwaite

Heard this yesterday at work and that it was a reoccurrence of the injury that saw him miss pre-season and the first 8 weeks of the season. Was praying it was just a rumour. 🙁

People whinged for weeks for Lindstrom to start “he has to be better than what we have”. No, he isn’t. We have no quality in wide areas and a gaping hole in midfield. Championship level in 6-8 positions.

PLEASE can people stop fighting for Lindstrom to play, he’s absolutely Runcorn levels.

Do professional Premier League Footballers require coaching on controlling a Football and passing? Coach them on tactics and on the ball / off the ball shape but these players look so bereft of quality on the ball, it’s hard to lay that entirely at the door of any of the several managers...

Their midfield is just much much better than ours. On the ball and off the ball. We’re being played through so easily.

The good news, lads, is that once Jarrad is back, all of our defensive frailties disappear.

    2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

As unappetising it is to watch, I’d rather keep the faith with the bloke who led us out of this same hole last season than take a chance on somebody who will come in and spend several months drawing the same conclusions as Dyche and the rest of us have now; the players are just not very good.

    2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

If we’re going to criticise him for his playing style and the manner of defeats this season (which is absolutely fair, it’s been awful) then it’s appropriate to balance that with credit for producing an excellent defensive record across a 38 game season in really tough circumstances. With a...
