    Goats squad analysis thread 2024/5

I'm hoping for a high turnover of players this summer. I doubt it'll happen though. The club will extend some contracts of players that should never wear the shirt ever again.

    Dyche; A Great Achievement?

I think the 'Dyche Out' brigade are very much fuelled by the long winless run which is understandable. But if the same results were spread throughout the season differently, achieving safety from relegation with 3 or 4 games teo go would definitely be seen a huge success after an 8 point...

    Luton v notts?

Haven't read through the other pages to see how often this has been quoted but a comment like this can't be quoted enough. Would you do one at a time or go for a dual handed skiing action? 😂

    2023/24 Sean Dyche

On the BBC.... Dyche said: "We have not been given an easy ride and I am super proud. The knocks keep coming for me as well - this job is not the way it has been pitched to me or what has happened. Definitely a dig at the Everton board selling Dyche a dream that was far from the truth. I'm...

Why wait til Summer? We have 5 more games before then. Plenty of time for some quick hit disappointment.

That bit is a joke yeah? We could sell £200m worth of players and still potentially have very little to go towards new signings.

No I don't think it will happen but we can't get better players in unless we ship out the deadwood so I'd like it to happen.

Keane is still under contract and obviously we have to keep some players so I don't expect him to go this summer.

    2023/24 Sean Dyche

You mean the West Ham player that they signed for about £35m? No Blackburn got Sammie Szmodics for a small fee from Peterbrough and he's got 25 league goals in a hugely under performing side this season. I'd rather see what a player like that does for Everton than someone like Beto.

    2023/24 Sean Dyche

Good, I don't want to find a Beto or a Maupay. I want the club to find a young and hungry player for under £10m that's going to be worth £50m in a couple of years not a £30m player that we turn in to a £10m player.

    Summer 2024 transfer thread.

I've had a slow day at work today (working from home) so I've had a look at the current Everton squad and what I'd potentially do if I was in charge (luckily for the club and it's fans I'm not in charge). Sales: Branthwaite....... £80m (£15k a week) Onana................. £40m (£100k a week)...

Personally it's a defence mechanism. If I assume the worst I won't feel as bad when we get beat 4-0. But if we manage a draw or by some miracle a win then it'll be happy days :)

    2023/24 Sean Dyche

In that case, if he does go we need a new DoF that actually has the ability to recruit decent players at a very affordable price. I'd actually be very happy if we don't pay over £10m for any new player for the next 3 or 4 tranfer windows. Look at the players we've spent big money on in the...

    2023/24 Sean Dyche

You're making it sound like Dyche will be in charge of our tranfer policy. Isn't that Kevin Thelwell's job? He'll be here regardless of who the manager is next season. So if Thelwell is recruiting past their best players a new manager would have exactly the same problem. What we need are young...

    2023/24 Sean Dyche

I have no problem with people who are an advocate of sacking Dyche but what do you expect from a new manager. The club can't afford to bring in better players and a 'better' manager is unlikely to bring out better performances from the existing players. I would love to see a more possession...

    Relegation 23/24 Thread

We have Liverpool and Arsenal to play which is a guarantee of no points from either game. So if we also lose to Luton that just leaves a possible 6 points from Brentford and Sheffield United which would put us on 36 as it stands. Luton could get to 37 with 4 wins but considering they've only won...

Match Thread Everton 2-0 Liverpool - Chat, Match Report and MotM Poll

I'm convinced that Everton were given all the VAR decisions against Forest so that when Liverpool get 17 penalties against us the PL can use the argument that it all averages out over a season.

    Relegation 23/24 Thread

Without a points deduction we'd be mathematically safe with 5 games to go. Dyche & the players have had a lot of criticism this season but we'd have taken safety with 5 games to go in the last couple of seasons.
