Yeah- heads have well and truly gone. They’re in tin foil hat territory. Creates a whole new pantomime around the club at a time when they need to be fully focused on performances on the pitch. Very odd.

Huge win. I’d have been satisfied with a point today following the Chelsea thrashing. 5 points is a big cushion with Luton only having 4 games left. Feel one more win for us now would be more than enough. Getting it on Wednesday would be most welcome!

Match Thread Everton v Nottingham Forest - Pre-Match Chat, Match Report & MotM Poll

I’ve still not fully forgiven Gomes for the awful performance he put in the first half of the Palace game when we were 2 down at half time. Chance to redeem himself today.

Agree. And the days of teams with no relegation threat/ chance of Europe playing a load of youngsters to give them game time are long gone. Too much financial incentive per league place for teams to sack it off.

Hopefully helps the atmosphere tomorrow. If Luton had won today, going into the game knowing they we’d be in the bottom 3 if we lost would make it very tense. As it is, it will probably still be a stressful afternoon, but knowing that a draw wouldn’t be disastrous is a big boost.

Do you think we'll see a reaction against Forest?

He’ll lift the mood a bit if he drops Young. If through injury/choice he starts Young, Keane, Godfrey and Beto then the mood will be flat from kick off and we’ll have a defence like a sieve with no attacking threat.

    2023/24 Abdoulaye Doucoure

Think there were rumours of Saudi clubs wanting him last summer wasn’t there? Hopefully that will happen again this year and we can get a decent fee for him.

    2023/24 Jordan Pickford

If someone offered £30m or more in the summer I’d be seriously tempted to sell him. Virginia caught more crosses in the FA cup games he played this season than Pickford has in his whole Everton career.

    Summer 2024 transfer thread.

Whichever league we’re in come the summer I’d be moving on a lot of the deadwood. Doucoure might attract interest from Saudi, Coleman is done, Young should be released, plus Maupay, Holgate, Keane. Danjuma and Harrison have done nothing to justify keeping them so 2 better loans need to be taken up.

    2023/24 Abdoulaye Doucoure

Been really poor since coming back into the side. Danjuma is the only player in our squad who wants to run with the ball and take players on. I’d play him, Mcneil and Harrison on Sunday. Highly doubt Dyche will be this bold on the back of last night. Think he’ll be ultra negative and defensive.

    2023/24 Seamus Coleman

He should be cover from the bench, not starting at right back with a 39 year old playing in front of him.

    2023/24 Sean Dyche

I’m concerned his reaction to this will be to play even more negatively in the upcoming home games than he did against Burnley. So Godfrey in at right back, Young still on the right wing, midfield 2 sitting really deep in front of the centre backs. It’s the only tactic he’s got.

    2023/24 Beto

Hoping he’s still got a reasonable reputation in Italy so someone there might buy him back in the summer. Nowhere near good enough.

    2023/24 Sean Dyche

This. Going the match is just a depressing experience. 4 home wins all season and the football is terrible to watch.

    2023/24 Nathan Patterson

Dyche won’t pick him after this. I saw him go past the half way line at least 3 times. Unacceptable for a full back. Get back in your own half if you want a game in this Everton side Nathan. Godfrey will be starting on Sunday.

Even if we scrape over the line this season, we’re just facing a fourth consecutive season of relegation fighting. Dyche has to be moved on in the summer.

    2023/24 Amadou Onana

Think it’s clear he doesn’t like playing for Dyche, and is downing tools. Shame he doesn’t see it as an opportunity to prove what he can do to get a big move in the summer. Part of the blame is also on Dyche for implementing a style of play that just bypasses the central midfielders by kicking...

    2023/24 Sean Dyche

This result will also reinforce his view that ugly, long ball football is the only way to play. Sunday will be 90 minutes of smashing the ball up the middle of the pitch, hoping to get a flick on. Whoever plays in the central midfield 2 will receive zero passes to feet as the ball will just be...

    2023/24 Sean Dyche

I think the anger is that he’s played Bournemouth and Burnley in recent games and just sits deep and smashes the ball up the pitch, when it’s crying out for more patient build up and using the midfielders. Then when we play a side full of attacking, pacy players, he’s decided it’s the day to...

    2023/24 Beto

In his 3 minute cameos, Chermiti has shown better control of the ball. Beto is out of his depth. So is Dyche.
