Totally agree, for me you need to impress to play. A few pages back, comments on Small, about him not being strong defensively, raises a similar question. Is it size and power or skill, technique and being able to read the game, that Everton go for when they choose players to go with

I think it is more on the progression pathways of the players. The club have put their hat on Welch and see him for the long term. Kristensen and Hagan are different types of player. Hagan very combative and a traditional type of CB. Kristensen is well balanced and can play with both feet...

I expect so/hope so. It will be interesting to see what we do with all the CBs we have amassed. I have mentioned before, that I cant see a future for Kristensen and Hagan beyond their current deals and Thompson was released this year. Based on the website we have 10+ CBs across 18s and 23s.

Keith Southern, looks like he's moved to U16 coach. I hear Phil Jevons has joined Taity. Sorry if this is already been mentioned but I've been away awhile.

Honestly he's huge. He towers over the other boys who are 6ft 2. Hagan probably comes in around 5ft 10ish. Just mentioning it as that has been commented on here

Jak Stewart is a big unit. 6ft 5+ already. Leban must be pushing as performing well and just been selected for Slovenia U21.

Sorry I don't, but led to believe he is at right CB, with possibly Hagan or Seb in the middle. Kat is now 23s, possibly injuried

Spot on, that was the point i was trying to make. Interesting on Dylan Thompson. I think he gained the most game time of all the defenders last season, and holding a place down ahead of Hagan and Kristensen who were on their pros. Will be interesting to see what decision they make on him. With...

I would expect similar. One concern, for me is being a bit light on defenders. Of the 6 U18s, 3 were defenders, 1 GK, and Liam Higgins played a few positions but had been a RB for both the 18s and 23s. So a lot of defensive cover with these boys. But when you factor in Hagan and Kristensen not...

Yes he did play at right back. There were a few appearances from Liam Higgins, and Joel Davidson, and now Matty Mallon (after his return from injury) at right back as well. Seems the back line is a bit unsettled or going through a restructure

Neither Harry Hagan or Seb kristensen have really featured during the u18 phase, so I don't think it's a return from injury. The CB partnership last season seemed to be Reece Welch and Dylan Thompson
