Sweet, turned up to the airport here in Izmir and the Turkish Airlines check-in staff member bumped us up to an earlier flight and included overweight baggage and a very good seat into the bargain. What an absolute legend.

I have to say that I've fallen in love with Cappadocia. I won't come here again as I've done what I had wanted to do, but I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone who hasn't already been if you have the opportunity to do so. Next stop is Izmir tomorrow.

We’re lucky that we have an alarm tomorrow by way of the Fajr so should be up in time to see them. I’m going to book a classic car tour for either Tuesday and Wednesday, tomorrow we’re doing a mixed Red and Green tour :)

I've just arrived in Goreme. It's swelteringly hot but the ride from the airport to my hotel was very scenic. I'd never thought I'd ever be going through rural Türkiye, was awesome tbf

The family dog was put down today. He was born in early 2010 and my folks picked him up in the spring of the same year, so we had 15 years with him, he was a source of comfort for me (and my family) so often. He made us laugh, and of course he sometimes made us a bit mad but laugh at the same...
