    Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

If Bill was still around, God rest his soul, we’d bid £28m for Delap tonight.

    2024/25 David Moyes

He’s certainly made a difference, I said before Dyche went that a new man could say the say things and get a better response. I think Moyes’ affinity for the club has aided the new manager bounce. I was at the Villa game, not much detectable improvement there but Spurs was encouraging with the...

    2024/25 David Moyes

Moyes was an absolute gent and a lovely chap when he visited Alder Hey when my daughter was in there, and I’m happy he’s back. Imagine how different things may have looked had Moshiri dipped in a bit earlier and we had Moyes Mk 1 spending the Klaasen / Sigurdsson / Bolasie / That Spanish Guy /...

Match Thread Brighton 0-1 Everton. Sat January 25th. 3pm

That was my first thought, these eve-of-game rumours always seem to be true. Hope Garner isn’t rushed back, Moyes will love him I think.

    Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

15m then, that was Chelsea’s January fee for Barkley. It’s a balance in my opinion. A confident DCL bouncing off the walls and playing with verve ( and within the 18 yard box because he gets support so he’s not messing about in the wide areas) could have us safe in 5 games. Maybe we go on a run...

    Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Here’s a conundrum: DCL scores two against Brighton, Arsenal bid £20m. Do we keep a fired up striker who may or may not leave for nothing, or bathe in PSR riches.

    New manager

Joe’s only 75, 6 months of Dogs Of War, finish 12th and then take stock in the summer.

    New manager

Even if the new manager comes in and plays it the same way as Dyche, performances would be vastly improved. He’s floundering now, it’s obvious from his press conferences, and if he shows no conviction in what he tells the players they won’t show it either. Right now we need a spark that burns...

    2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

I wonder if he’s reflecting on how little interest teams have in him they won’t float 25m for him. Even if he’s being told he’ll get this and that on a free these teams are so not arsed they’re happy for him to rot for a year.

    Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

We should cook up a plan with Chelsea - buy Broja for 50m and sell DCL to Chelsea for 50m. FFP win for both and it doesn’t really matter who plays up front if we don’t cross or pass to them.

    2024/25 Neal Maupay

That’s astonishing business for us. Imagine the furore if we negotiated a purchase of a player like that. We all went mental when we had to pay Man City when Gareth Barry turned his loan into a free transfer.

Remember thinking that after Billy Kenny’s derby, him and Ebbrell was midfield sorted for 10 years in my eyes.

We’ve got 9 subs and only one is a goalkeeper! Crisis club my arse.

    Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

It seems that Moshiri inserts a 200m loan clause in the exclusivity agreements so we’ll be quids in soon from Textor! Is cash at hand an issue? A lot of TV money arrives in the summer, but I don’t know the ins and outs. I guess if we’re avoiding the bank manager’s calls then we’re a bit stuck.

    Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

I think the club needs look to at what we can buy for a modest breach of the cap and what they might add. Buy a couple of 20m players - definitely a right back then take your pick - and if we assume we are dead level on PSR now we’d breach by 8m. 4 - 5 points. I think we’ll make that up simply...

New Everton Owners: The Friedkin Group

I guess they have budget to cover equity and debt, and they’re already loading up on debt. One hopes it’s a negotiating tactic so they scare Moshiri and 777 into virtually giving away equity and taking a haircut respectively. Or someone else slips in and has a pop.
