They've got expansion plans (approved earlier this year) but I didn't think they'd be adding that many seats. Thought it was more like 50k.

To be accurate, selected ahead of Anfield (which I guess is a big enough W for you guys anyway). Etihad beat OT (Man Utd withdrew anyway because they think they might be doing upgrades around that time), and NWHL beat LS, Emirates, SB etc. Literally the reason Anfield lost out.

Don't think that would've been something that added much to the cost. It was more about optimising the layout as the build went on e.g. maybe we can fit an extra seat at the end across a whole block. That kind of thing. Still might happen with BMD.

My assumption is the other way around. The club wanted a big home end...but that takes up more horizontal space than a normal stand and the site is constrained N-S. So the small stand is the compromise for having the big home end. If you keep the roof more or less the same height all round...

If fits perfectly with F1 (and Hamilton's) push of making the sport more accessible for kids whose families don't have pots of money. I don't see it being an expensive venture for either party (lots of temporary overlay) and it probably won't be a huge money spinner either, but I don't see why...

Liverpool next isn't it, so you could be right. Lovely way to start the weekend though, great result.
