Points Deduction, Appeal & 2nd PSR Charge

The Forest hearing took 2 days although they had an earlier Fact Find. It suggests that there may be more to argue or that there are facts in dispute.

    777 Partners - New Poll Added 18/10/23

No idea. But the greater the prospect of Admin the better the deal which they would prevent. We all complain about the board lacking any business acumen but then expect any buyers to act out of love for Everton. Those days are gone and quite frankly we’ve tried that and this is our third...

    777 Partners - New Poll Added 18/10/23

The alternative view would be that they may actually be good businessmen. Why pay a lot for a business when they can get it for less at a better time. The club has been run as a vanity project for decades and that’s why there is such a gap between us and the top 6.

At the moment we don’t know. Not sure how much mitigation they have.

Points Deduction, Appeal & 2nd PSR Charge

I think that there is a little confusion over whether 6 points is the minimum. The principle is what is the minimum punishment required for the breach taking into account the circumstances of the case - it is not 6 points is the minimum full stop. In our case it was found to be 6 points and...

If it was done to reduce taxes then it’s a criminal matter and the then Directors should be worried. I’ve not seen any suggestion that there is a Police investigation although if the there is or was it would delay any PL investigation.

Nope - "misdemeanours" or civil "offenses" are not used as terms of art in UK law. Everton provided information that was wrong to the Premier League about PSR calculations. Their accounts were correct it is simply the treatment of certain payments. And they did not act contrary to a duty of...

On both occasions the Premier League have followed their procedures so not sure about that argument to be honest. The fact that the clubs agreed to in-season determination for this season means that I can’t see it myself.

It would be useful to know how much we are over. It’s just a mess.

I know people are keen on the double jeopardy argument but it doesn't hold water. Every year we have to be compliant over a three year period. That means that wherever we are in a financial year we have to tailor our finances to ensure that we are complaint within that season. We were not in...

Points Deduction, Appeal & 2nd PSR Charge

Everton accepted a £9.7 million breach. The Premier League asserted and the Commission found that the breach was £19.5 million. Colin Chong said we were appealing the outcome. He goes on to comment on the punishment but do we know if the difference in the extent of the breach is being...

Points Deduction, Appeal & 2nd PSR Charge

Whilst obviously any points handed back would be great, if they are suspended, then we run the risk of them and an additional number of points being inflicted on us at season's end because of the second charge. I am more interested in knowing if we appealed the amounts in dispute. If the...

I don’t doubt that but it is inflating transfer fees. Chelsea in particular have taken advantage of it.

The more I think about it the more I think that the Amortization of transfer fees is a problem. If you pay a transfer fee why can't it count against your profit and loss in that year. Prevents inflation of transfer fees.

Do the EFL have a fixed penalty regime or at least guidance? EPL has nothing.

Optimistically you would think that double accounting would reduce the points deduction for the second matter but at the same time usually a second offence results in a harsher penalty.

    2023/24 Beto

He's just one that'll take a bit of time. I think that he lacks confidence in what he should be doing. On Sunday he was just slow to react to situations as if he was trying to concentrate on where he needed to be. On hi debut he looked decent as if he was playing freely. Dyche has a...

A further argument is that if we had to run Transfers past the Premier League how does it make sense for them to the say it was all on us. What was the purpose of us having to get their approval. Why did we have to run it past them if they were not prepared to refuse to register a player...
