A third penalty not given. Generational performance by Young.

Second clear penalty for Forest ignored

    2023/24 Amadou Onana

I just think people are underestimating how much the team you’re in matters. It’s very difficult to be a high level player on the ball when you don’t have a set up or teammates that allow for that. It’s very hard to control midfield playing for a manager who is setting the team up to not battle...

    2023/24 Amadou Onana

You cannot just decide to lift performances. This team is not being given the tools to succeed and it is not succeeding. Fix that first.

    2023/24 Amadou Onana

A slow learner implies he’s being taught. He however is not.

    2023/24 Jordan Pickford

I love how over 7 seasons or whatever it is now he’s managed to be basically exactly average across any significant stretch. Any time he’s playing well he has some stinkers to make it clear he’s still just average, and the other way too where he usually responds to a bad stretch with a game...

    This is on purpose!

    2023/24 Amadou Onana

I feel like the issue is more that he needs to learn and needs to be coached but a lot of the traits are there already

I’m not talking about just yesterday

    2023/24 Amadou Onana

These types of moments are genuinely due in part to the set up and coaching, yes.
  12. TheBigIguana

    2023/24 Abdoulaye Doucoure

He’s always been crap, having a few deflections and ricochets drop to your feet for tap ins doesn’t make you good especially when your role is (I guess) to play as a #10/second striker type. I’m not sure there is a better way to use the players we have but shoehorning him into that spot seems...

    2023/24 James Garner

Like Onana you just aren’t going to see what he might be capable of or any development under this manager. I’ve actually been encouraged this year. We need real coaching.
  14. TheBigIguana

    2023/24 Beto

It’s how predictable it was that makes this frustrating. I say that but maybe I’m underestimating just how crap he is. I was thinking he’d be merely below average. He’s clearly worse than Niasse.

    2023/24 Amadou Onana

You cannot dominate a game playing in a team who sets out week after week with no intention of competing in the game, much less dominating it. Completely impossible. An unrealistic expectation for someone playing for Sean Dyche.

    2023/24 Amadou Onana

Feels pretty obvious that if he leaves in the summer and goes somewhere with a real coach who will get him in a competitive midfield and actually look to improve his game he’ll flourish. I’m not saying he’s turning into Vieira but he’ll be well better than he looks here.

    Our next manager?

Truly amazing to make a post saying short term results aren’t a good barometer for decision making and have a response go “lost 8 of 11 mate.” What exactly do you think that is mate?
  18. TheBigIguana

    Our next manager?

The same reason ultimately we’re where we are. Shortsightedness. A focus on results in a business where in small samples they can be very misleading.
