The Esk is correct. Shooting the messenger is much easier than accepting reality.

    Our next manager?

Football should offer escapism, and there is nothing wrong with looking on the bright side. But if you think Everton are anything other than at death's door then you are in denial. We have a debt of around £500m that we are accumulating interest at 10pc a year on. We still need another 150m to...

There is nobody anywhere near standard. Got to concentrate on the Stones, DCL, Branthwaite market of 17-18 year olds at EFL clubs and go in for them.

All commercially borrowed money in football is around 8-10% interest, higher in the event that a club could default. If you or I buy a house we take a mortgage against the property. You pay a deposit which de-risks the loan for the bank, and if we don't pay the bank can simply sell the house...

    January transfer window 2024

The builders need paying and we don't have the cash in the bank, hence the need for borrowing. It is all on public record.

Who is we? The club does not generate the revenue to pay it so it needs to come from borrowing.

    January transfer window 2024

We are needing to borrow 20m a month to pay our bills. I still don't think people get how serious the situation is. We aren't not spending just because of P&S , the club is in existential danger

If the club survives and finds some new owners then there is a huge opportunity to rebuild the youth team with some decent recruitment and to use the ESC slots bringing in the best from around the world.

    David Moyes

Moyes has flaws, so does every manager, but he is one of the absolute best at turning £ into points. What people seem to want is a manager who outperforms his budget almost every year AND can also beat teams with 4x his playing budget. All whilst playing with a swagger. You have to ask if...

Why the assumption that bad news is "lies"? Other clubs are prepared to sue Everton. The same thing happened to Derby County with Boro and Wycombe threatening lawsuits that prevented a takeover. From their point of view Everton cheated and lied which enabled Everton to overspend. The club...

Still obvious people don't understand the implications of relegation. It isn't a rebuild, it is the worst financial implosion in football history. You'd need someone who is prepared to write of half a billion minimum to keep us alive.

Front page article - The Harsh Reality

Administration doesn't remove debt that is owed to football clubs, players, the government, nor debt secured against revenue streams or assets. We may be a huge name in football but we'd be a club with no stadium, no training centre, no players, a points deduction and around 250-350m of money...

Front page article - The Harsh Reality

The figure I was given was £20m a month funding requirements for the next 5 years, basically £100m annual underlying loss and £100m annual stadium costs and debt interest. With relegation income falls by another £100m. Administration doesn't turn you into a debt free club. Our lenders have...

    777 Partners - New Poll Added 18/10/23

There is always this idea that "once Moshiri builds the stadium we'll be worth more and he can cash in" This isn't how investors think. They look at the stadium as a cost of sale e.g you need to host football matches and that comes at a cost of say £15m a year at Goodison with ticket income of...

    Summer transfer window 2023

Iwobi is a linking attacking midfielder in a possession based team. And a very decent one. Cornet is a wide attacker who suits a transitional attack. I much prefer Iwobi as a player but we aren't a possession based team and have only been so in occasional games since he joined.

    Targets for 23/24 Season

There should be a 15 year plan that gets us to be up with the best but until 2025 we have horrific contracts and no ability to spend. In those circumstances the best we can do is survive. I still don't think a lot of people get how bad things are.

    Targets for 23/24 Season

We are the equivalent of a 50 year old lifelong smoker, who has completed a 5km parkrun in an hour and people think we should be targeting winning the Olympic 100 meters next year. It is all about survival for the foreseeable. We need to get into shape, lose a lot of weight, and start doing the...
