New Everton Owners: The Friedkin Group

I've no idea who Chris Howarth is, he might be great but for sense of scale both Brentford and Brighton have multi-hundred million pound gambling companies gathering their data and teams of data scientists processing it. Chris was the only employee of his company, which has been running for 2...

Ex players on the pitch Sunday:

Seeing Joe Royle looking older bought it home how time moves on. He was the same age I am now when we won the FA cup. He's the same age as my dad almost to the day. Getting old is way better than the alternative and he seemed as mentally alert as ever. Hopefully we all get some more trophies...

I really enjoyed watching that. Well done to the club and supporters. Judged the event perfectly

Players are humans and have choices. Any talented 12 year old being offered guaranteed 6 year holistic education programs at City isn't going to sign up for Squid games at Everton.

    Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Edwards is/was "difficult" in a similar way to Lookman. Quiet and introverted. Definitely not one of the lads and therefore perceptions in football are that he is standoffish and rude, even a bit weird. Football can be brutal and reputations are trashed early. I'm not such Edwards is PL quality...

Coincidence for sure. I wouldn't be shocked if he did come back in some capacity (though I don't know as what) as he lives locally and is good but Everton has nothing to do with his departure.

The Now-Irrelevant 2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

So some of the people who cried about how boring Moyes was for years and years are now the biggest supporters of Dyche. Almost as if it is deliberate contrarianism.

No. The club is not worth £1b. A debt free Everton in the PL is about £400m. Stadiums add only a fraction of their build cost value.

Not a single academy graduate in the first team squad. Obviously with the sales of Gordon, Dobbin, Simms, Cannon, Samuel-Smith there are reasons for that but I think we are the only PL club to be in this situation.

Most talented player we've had in the PL era?

At their career peak XI Southall Baines Stones Coleman Gascoigne James Beardsley Rooney Kanchelskis Eto'o Lukaku Fullbacks are controversial but I can't immediately think of any better. May be a bit light defensively but they'd be a good watch

They don't care. It has been a nice adventure and they are going down with a squad good enough to challenge. They almost went out of business and are using the season to bank £100m, which pays for most of their new stadium. When you've been down to the 5th tier and had 30 points deducted in a...

    Our next manager?

Football should offer escapism, and there is nothing wrong with looking on the bright side. But if you think Everton are anything other than at death's door then you are in denial. We have a debt of around £500m that we are accumulating interest at 10pc a year on. We still need another 150m to...

There is nobody anywhere near standard. Got to concentrate on the Stones, DCL, Branthwaite market of 17-18 year olds at EFL clubs and go in for them.

777 Partners / Whatever the hell you like

All commercially borrowed money in football is around 8-10% interest, higher in the event that a club could default. If you or I buy a house we take a mortgage against the property. You pay a deposit which de-risks the loan for the bank, and if we don't pay the bank can simply sell the house...
