    Match Report: Watford-Everton, 9 April 2016

Another week, another disappointing result in the buildup to the biggest game of Everton’s season. The Blues drew 1-1 today with Watford to drop further still down the table, this time to fourteenth in the table. A largely wasteful performance was the theme today from the Blues, as has become...

    Roberto Martinez discussion

I just don't know if I 100% agree. Money's great, but Mourinho has managed in CL finals, has won titles. I don't think the club will be ambitious enough for him if you ask me today. Now if the 100 million pounds is guaranteed to the next manager and no one leaves then that's definitely a...

Are people that think we can attract a Mourinho or Simeone serious?

    Roberto Martinez discussion

Last season there was between 0 and 2 teams in the "mid table" section for most of the season. This year, there's many more, hence the change in perception when a win one week puts us 7th and a loss the next keeps us where we were at the start of the two week period. A bit more luck from...

Martinez to seek meeting with ref bosses

Something tells me the same thing will happen with Leicester late on in the season, against the teams they're fighting with for the title.

    Roberto Martinez discussion

Style vs. substance: let's look at the teams I think we're ahead of talent wise but are ahead of us in the table. Number of 1-0 or 2-1 wins for West Ham: 3 Number of 1-0 or 2-1 wins for Crystal Palace: 6 Number of 1-0 or 2-1 wins for Southampton: 2 Number of 1-0 or 2-1 wins for Watford: 4...

    Roberto Martinez discussion

Not to say Martinez should stick around in the event that this happens, but maybe, just maybe, this isn't that good a squad? I hate to draw it out and go position by position BUT: Howard is for the most part past it. Joel is good, and I think Martinez should use him more often. Coleman is not...

Review and MOTM: Man City-Everton, 13/1/2016

13/1/2013 - Manchester City 0-0 Everton, 28 points, 11th in the table After resting most of the starting eleven at the weekend, John Stones took over at right back for the injured Seamus Coleman and Leon Osman came in for also-injured Tom Cleverley. Muhamed Besic managed to keep his place...

Match Thread Everton Vs Manchester City - Capital One Cup - Semi Final 1st Leg - Wednesday 6th January - 20:00 KO

Matched them and then some. If they hadn't scored I would've said it's there to be won, but I think another goal for either side is coming.

But at some point, the defense has to improve if he wants a long term future here don't you think? For a club of our stature, we should be "near the top" as you say, but 11th is becoming increasingly unacceptable.

    Roberto Martinez discussion

I'm closer to wanting him out this year than I was this time last year. And I never thought I'd say that after some of our performances this season.

Newcastle 0 -Everton 1 : Review and MOTM poll, 26/12/2015

26/12/2015 - Newcastle 0-1 Everton (Cleverley 93’), 26 pts, 9th in the table A wintertime trip to Newcastle has brought back multiple victories in the past few seasons, and the Blues hoped to make their way back into the European discussion after disappointing results against Crystal Palace...

Match Review: West Ham 1-1 Everton, 7 November 2015

7/11/2015 - West Ham 1-1 Everton (Lanzini 30’, Lukaku 43’) For a matchup with a team that is above Everton in the league, the Toffees more than held their own against a hot West Ham team having a start as excellent as they could have asked for in the summer after hiring Slaven Bilic. Everton’s...

I think Browning can cut it at the Premier League level. He's still young, just slightly less so than Galloway.

Match Review: Reading-Everton, 2015 Capital One Cup Round 3 22/9/15

I figure we can give Lennon the benefit of the doubt given he's not a right back, he still contributed offensively despite being mediocre defensively.

Match Review: Reading-Everton, 2015 Capital One Cup Round 3 22/9/15

22/9/15 - Reading 1-2 Everton; through to fourth round of Capital One Cup Fresh off a game where the Blues managed to look menacing but bereft of goals against Swansea, what does Roberto Martinez do? He listens to the fine folk at GrandOldTeam.com, that’s what! You want wingers? Boom! Aaron...

    Transfer Rumour Andriy Yarmolenko

Think it's a goer, hopefully this means a switch in playing style to put both Yarmolenko and Mirallas on the pitch at the same time. Both talented players who can (in Mirallas's case) produce at this level.

Match Thread Southampton v Everton. 15th Aug at 12.45.

At halftime I criticized Southampton over commending the performance, very glad to see I had to eat my words at full time. Looked a lot like the team we saw in season one under Martinez, and if we find a solution to play quickly with the ball at home that's a recipe for a top 6 finish.
