    Moyes Potential Replacement

This. Some of the names I've seen being quoted on here are nothing short of mental given our current situation. I think Martinez is the best bet because of his bizarre scouting network meaning he can snap up quality from South America for buttons. I'd also have Gus Poyet or Roberto di Matteo...

    Junior Hoilett anyone ?

I remember Footy Manager 2009 describing Santon as "the new Paolo Maldini". That worked out well for him. Weren't we in for Sessegnon when he was first making noises about leaving PSG? I'd still have him. Swerve Hoilett though, not robust enough. Squad player.

    Everton v Norwich City. Sat 24th Nov @ 15.00.

Norwich are worse off now under Hughton than they were last year under Lambert, they've not got one player who genuinely concerns me. Still get pissed off thinking of Holt's goal against us last season, because that physicality is literally his only asset and we should have had a lid on it...

    Ideal January Transfer Window

Ofoe in and nobody out would do me. If we could afford a striker that would be nice, we're thin up top with only Jelavic, Anichebe and Vellios as recognised strikers. Surely Hitzlsperger won't stay past January, which would free up whatever wages he's on?

    Anichebe

Sounds harsh, but if this is another lengthy one it could be time to cut our losses on Vic. Never been fit enough to string together a good enough run of form. Reckon he'd be a player for a lower-level Prem team without so much expectation, a Wigan or a West Ham or a Reading.

Would you rather have bad guys in the team if it means we win more?

I think a fair few of us would take issue with Felli if he played for the ****e, he's been known to throw a few elbows for the cause.

Andy Van Der Meyde: "Tears, Beers, and Swearing at David Moyes"

It's easy to get frustrated when thinking about VDM because he should've been world-class. But he's another in a long line of quality characters that have passed through EFC over the years and I can't help but love the lad.

    John Gudetti..

I like Guidetti a lot but would have to agree that the deal would be counterproductive to us if it doesn't come with an option to buy. I begrudge offering Citeh any help whatsoever since Lescott and, to a lesser extent, Rodwell.

    Central midfield vs Swansea

Hopefully Nev's nightmare performance last night has highlighted the need for another centre midfielder to Moyes. We shouldn't be pissing our limited wages up the wall on someone like Boruc when CM is the priority. Hitzlsperger for me please.

    Amature

This. All they did in the entire second half was knock it long towards Ba and Cisse (then Ameobi). Granted, all we did was knock it long towards Fellaini, but it was disconcerting that Jags and Distin couldn't contain their CFs when that was their only tactic. Fact about it, I think Jags was...

    Derby tickets

I generally only manage to make 8-10 home matches a year due to work commitments but I didn't have any problem getting a derby ticket through the OS last season.

Will Everton EVER win the Premier League??

I put "yes", but only because I think we will be rid of Kenwright one day. I mean, even if he never sells up, the man can't live forever!

    Financial Fair Play

Whenever FFP comes up, I immediately think of Citeh's "naming rights" deal for the Etihad, for which they receive £15m per year. This is legit and comes under the club's official income, despite Citeh and Etihad sharing a common ownership. So that's one Jack Rodwell per year that they can pay...

    Fellaini wants to leave Everton?

Felli has had previous for these kinds of antics; his dad's been agitating for him to move to United or Chelsea for a couple of seasons. I'm gutted, but I've always trusted in Moyes to reinvest any money he's given well. Thing is, if Felli goes at the end of the season AND so does Moyes (the...

The midfield free agent options preference thread

I'd have Hitzlsperger before anyone else, he'd fit into our style of play, has Prem experience with two clubs and would be good to go immediately. Only 30 as well, we could get a good couple of years out of him as a backup player.

    Naismith? Thoughts?

Last night's unpleasantness notwithstanding, I think Naisy has already shown a fair amount, certainly for a player we got for free. His movement against Villa was a sight to behold and against AEK he was out of this world. When you look at some of the other players we've had in on frees in...

Busting our balls [Vadis odjidja ofoe]

Yeah, he's not exactly an unknown quantity; he's been capped more than once by the most lauded Belgian national side in years, so managers will definitely have had their eye on him. My concern is that Vadis was Moyes' third choice for a new CM behind N'Zonzi (who I don't particularly rate) and...

Favourite Everton player of all time and why?

Andrei Kanchelskis was an absolute dream to watch playing football on his day, what a player.
