    US Squad

Torres looked very good on the ball against Costa Rica, although it seemed like he was out of position for the first two Costa Rica goals. To be fair those goals weren't his fault though. Sadly him and Adu might be the only US midfielders who can maintain possession under pressure and neither...

Bottom line = Johnson sold to get Fellani

I highly rate Fellani, but I just can't help but scratch my head at the £15mil sum.

    What A ****

OP failed to give the whole story. Carragher, once Everton's biggest fan, can't stand the Toffees now | Mail Online Personally I think he's just crying boohoo.

    New Howard back-up?!...

Suppose you can never have too many American goalies!

    m'bia "sell me to everton"

Kinda off-topic, but I'm more of a Maurice Edu fan than a Bradley fan, as far as defensive midfielder is concerned! snuffed out plenty of attacks against Japan.

    VAN EYES RETURN

I'm still optimistic he'll play more games than Nuno Valente :o

    AJ to Villa

Exactly what I was thinking. (y) Although I don't believe we should consider bids less than 10 million though.

    Spain v Russia

Spain's clearly the favorite to win the match, but I got a feeling Hiddink's gonna pull a rabbit out of his hat and pull a draw. If for no other reason than because Spain didn't call up Arteta!

    USA-Argentina

I actually think his central mid's have some freedom to go foward, it's just that their way too wasteful with possession and are always on the backfoot defending. You could see in the Argentina game Edu and Kljestan had chances to move forward since Donovan could make smart runs into the final...

    USA-Argentina

I think that's kinda over-analyzing the US team there. They just don't have central midfielders who have the composure and technique to maintain possession and make any meaningful passes. That's really the big thing people never appreciated about Claudio Reyna when he played for the US. After...

    USA-Argentina

For a moment I was concerned Mascherano injuried Donovan on that tackle. Call me crazy, but it seemed like the U.S. was a serious threat to score in the 2nd half.

    USA-Argentina

Tim Howard's first half was absolutely brilliant. Denied Cruz 1 on 1 twice and made some other great plays. The question is how many Americans does it take to stop Messi. 3? 4?

    Spain v USA

Actually, over 53,000 tickets have been sold according to US Soccer, so it's gonna be a packed game. Altidore and Donovan's expected to be in camp for the Argentina game, so I'm hoping we can get a full strength team and talk about an upset like it's not impossible!

    That Altidore Cat

I personally think Altidore's the only one right now in the U.S. pool who can blossom into a bona fide star. Freddy Adu's got some physical limitations, and Landon Donovan doesn't appear to be willing to test what the limits of his potential is in Europe.

    Michael Bradley

Adu at least lived in the U.S. since he was 8 or 9. I don't believe Hargreaves ever lived in England, although I honestly have no problem with either person's national affiliation. Back on the subject of Bradley here, I think he represents too big of a question mark to take a gamble on with...

    Spain v USA

Bradley's looking rather pedestrian with some reckless tackles. Gotta say, that Freddy Adu is really something out there. Just cant figure out why he was subbed at half time.
  17. I

    Spain v USA

I wouldn't go so far as to compliment Bradley's touch. This is going to be an ugly game though, unless Freddy Adu pulls some serious magic out of his hat with no real striker in front of him (Eddie Johnson doesn't count!). I like Maurice Edu partnering with Bradley though in midfield.

    American players

Speaking of Altidore, a little birdy informed me that Villarreal's got a preliminary deal to snatch our beastly forward for 8-10 million dollars (~4-5mil pounds). Bout time we had an American in Spain, assuming this is true. Would be funny to see two American strikers starting for Villarreal...

    Top Four Wobble.

There hasn't been that much transfer activity yet, so It'd be difficult to make an educated guess about next season. However, I'd like to think Spurs have a good shot, if their backline can stay healthy and Berbatov stays. So far they haven't been shy to splash money to improve their...

    England vs. USA

I hope Freddy Adu and Maurice Edu get to play later, I can only imagine the announcer possibilities with their names. I recall Aston Villa was rumored to have some interest in Edu last January too.
