    2019/20 Marco Silva

£150m is 2/3 players for Mourinho given what Pogba and Sanchez cost.

    2019/20 Marco Silva

Question is, if we'd not collapsed at Brighton due to a combination of VAR BS, inherent cowardice and a screw-up by the Gallic Baines, would the knives still be out for Silva - we would be a good few places higher. The sideways passing and inability to break a side down is down to MS but can't...

    2019/20 Jordan Pickford

I think it's harsh writing him off when he's still this young. Makes a lot of good saves. Even the best keepers make clangers - other players do too but in the GK position they're more costly. Agree with Bily above that other areas need strengthening first.

    2019/20 Marcel Brands

Very little star quality to change a game is spot on. Most other sides have a player who will make something happen or lift the performance with a bit of brilliance - a quality glaringly absent from the current shower.

    2019/20 Marco Silva

Today was a watershed for me. I know it shouldn't hinge on one game but four defeats in a row, rarely looking like scoring and sticking with 4231 in the face of disaster is the sign of a club sleepwalking into disaster.

"Insurance bets" against your own team

What got me thinking is Burnley are almost 2/1 at home against us. Ridiculous given our typical away form.

    Your point?

"Insurance bets" against your own team

Interesting set of replies here. Not that I've backed against us but certainly thought about it - some comfort for the constant disappointment. While we're at it...ever back the RS?

"Insurance bets" against your own team

Having an insurance bet against the Blues... Have you? Would you ever? Unforgivable curse OR understandable in the current climate?

    Is Sam that bad?

Absolutely. Martinez wasn't slaughtered for being attacking, he was slaughtered because of ineffective sideways football and disastrous defending. Plus a purple patch of 2 wins in about 16 games.

    Is Sam that bad?

Mike Walker led us to a magical 6-2 victory over Swindon (forget the 12 games-ish without a win). Allardyce would've probably picked one striker and hoped to nick a 1-0.

Leighton Baines ..will he come back..if not how will we rate him?

Hmm I wonder if FourFourTwo still asks player who their "Fave Babe" is!

    2017/18 Gylfi Sigurdsson

It's all about the transfer fee. If he'd cost 25m like Klaassen people wouls be talking him up. I think he's quality and reallt want him to succeed. You could see earlier in the season he was desperate to do well and frustrated when things didn't come off. Good to see his confidence improving...

Are you “one of the fifteen”

Didn't know what option to select to be honest. I think many fans have a general resignation to the fact he is our manager but no one is going to be hailing him a hero for keeping us up. Winning against Leicester then ripping the side apart against Arsenal and predictably getting whacked was...

    Is Sam that bad?

Anyone suggesting Sam is "not that bad" has to think hard about if they're really satisfied with barely having a shot against the likes of West Brom and Bournemouth and surrendering at Arsenal despite selecting 7 defensive players. Sam brought a decent bounce when he started but apart from the...

    Danny Murphy - Brainless?

Was struggling to hear over two noisy kids but did he not also basically say we got lucky with all our goals? Horrible red git. And not even a passing mention of Jon Moss giving another Merseyside penalty. Funny that.

Are we in a relegation battle right now?

That's what is SO infuriating. The squad is full of what appear to be talented players but three managers have failed to get them to look like even vaguely competent on a semi-regular basis.

    2017/18 Gylfi Sigurdsson

But, like Big Sam, Barry has the luxury of being able to feel like he has nothing to prove. No transfer fee to justify, no pressure at all, really. Imagine if Sig had been the single signing in a settled, confident side and had cost half as much. Could've been a totally different story.

    Is our Great club jinxed?

Not jinxed but burdened with unrealistic expectations. We used to be amazing and our heritage still counts, but only so far. We have similar early history and profile to sides like Villa and Arsenal. The main difference being we carried on winning stuff. But after the mid 80s Villa went...

Are we in a relegation battle right now?

But as I stated in a different thread, plenty of other teams have conspired to produce an even worse set of results. And newly promoted sides tend to struggle after Christmas because their squads are thinner and lower than average quality.
