This has got nothing to do with me playing football, or Doucoure, so that’s a bit weird mate! Confidence plays a massive part in someone getting forward effectively. Look at VM before he got to us. Very effective going forward. Perhaps Moyes can get that confidence back into him.

So that’s 1 opinion? VM is a really good defensive fullback. Where I will concede is that he hasn’t been the best getting forward. If that can be developed, we have an excellent left back in our hands. Moyes does develop defenders.

The reason it’s an unpopular opinion is because it’s not really true.

Even with one foot 2 sizes bigger than the other, due to injury/infection. Much maligned player, but he’s stepped up when needed.

If you watch Paddy’s podcast, from a couple of days ago, he is conservative about which rumours he puts out there. He hears a lot more than he lets on, so if he’s reporting this in The Athletic, then it probably has some legs. Let’s hope, he looks quality.
