    Transfer Rumour Douglas Luiz

I don’t blame the players , I blame the game , the administrators past and present who have eroded its standards for the sake of their own personal greed and prestige . Who sold out to the television companies. Who lacked any moral stature to oppose the erosion of the game to a simple pursuit of...

    Transfer Rumour Douglas Luiz

I loved football back then . Best days of my life. Every aspect of it was superior. It was our game then . We were supporters , now we’re consumers. And the crowds may have been smaller but the atmosphere and noise generated dwarfs today’s efforts .

    Transfer Rumour Douglas Luiz

Over the years I have found myself attending more Bundesliga matches , especially since Union Berlin and St Pauli gained promotion . While it has its own pressures and problems it is still striving to keep attending matches affordable for everyone. So , yes , a better model and increasingly a...

I’d rather ticket prices were affordable , and the majority of the money was returned to game , supporting grass roots clubs for instance . Football was once the working man’s game , now attending matches is increasingly a middle class pursuit . Players wages drive prices upwards along with...

    Transfer Rumour Douglas Luiz

If all the professional footballers vanished overnight , the world would survive . They are part of the leisure and entertainment industry. The world would survive and prosper without them .

The problem with football isn’t the agents it’s the obscene wages that footballers earn . For kicking a bag of air around a park ? Its ridiculously distasteful. But it is what it is . The world is insane .

    The Unconcerned Concerned

New owners , new stadium , new administrative structure , old manager , old problems. I find it comfortingly reassuring that in these days of change and uncertainty Everton remain stubbornly unaltered and apparently unalterable. Never change Everton , never change 🤣

    Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

If you are committed to developing a player a good amount of playing time is possible during a season , which ultimately benefits the club . Playing someone like Antonio or Vardy will almost certainly only benefit the players retirement fund . It’s a dead end , high cost , low return strategy.

I’d rather we gave Chermiti game time and developed him here than contribute to the pension fund of some over the hill has been . Everton have developed something of a habit of providing a sanctuary for such players to eke out the last days of their playing career during the last 30 years . It...

Interesting. So , considering the general consensus is that we are at least five players short of a squad your contention is that every player we have selected to fill those positions is either reluctant to join or touring Japan . We are either highly unlucky, a little too selective in our...

Are you trying to say we have set our heart on a couple of palatial mansions we can’t afford and we will have to make do with a couple of run down bungalows and a garden shed in need of repair ?

Surely our scouting yields more than one player for every position we want fill ? Very poor system if this not the case .

I am unconvinced that this particular fellow brings anything to the team that can’t be sourced less expensively from better leagues. I don’t think there are any currently reliable links anyway.

It’s impressive , the owners have backed the manager and shown they are determined to do everything they can to improve the team . Like I say , the management in this case clearly had an achievable and discernible plan. It would be nice to see evidence of similar resolve and planning on the...

To be fair there isn’t much else to pin your hopes onto currently, unless you want get moist with Moist over the vague possibility of Soucek ( which also probably isn’t happening either)😁

I see the woman’s team is continuing to strengthen with intent. It appears the management had a clearly defined plan , and had identified the players they wanted to recruit.

While it’s unfair and foolish to judge a transfer window until its conclusion, it is intriguing to compare the briskness with which the woman’s team have acquired several quality players to the satisfaction of their manager.
