I’m not sure why this thread is taking the view that this implies a significant period out. Is it because, in the recent past, Everton has used terms like “minor niggle” to avoid telling the truth about a player’s condition? Maybe that’s no longer the case and maybe it is just a minor niggle?

I read a rumour a few posts up from here that we’re only going to sign one or two more players.

Doesn’t matter how you come to support Everton, or when. Only matters that, once decided, you never change your mind.
