    Spiders in the UK

I get loads of those cellar spiders in my house. I generally catch them and evict them rather than kill them as they're pretty harmless. I heard they preyed on the giant house spider and one night I went downstairs through the night and there was one with a giant house spider in it's jaws...

BBC Get Involved - one that got away

In his 2006 book Rooney said he would've gone to Newcastle had Man Utd not come in for him he was that desperate to get away from the City of Liverpool and David Moyes. What Rooney got wrong was he had 2 years left on his contract not 3 as he states in this.

I've come down to Edgbaston for the first two days. Pleased to see no Bumrah for them. View from my seat.

ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Yet another big money acquisition made 'with the Countinho money lad', yeah?

    Lineker us and the 80s

Terry Venables was supposed to be leaving Barcelona in the summer of '86 and he'd recommended Kendall to the Barca board as his replacement. They made a move and HK went to meet them, with the blessing of Carter, and he agreed to take the job and signed a provisional contract. I believe this had...

    Everton: Next Trophy?

Whenever we win something next it will be the FA Cup. We won't win the league again in my lifetime (thank god I'm just about old enough to remember 85 and 87), we are never destined to win the League Cup and as for Europe, something always goes wrong (getting banned for F all in the 80s...

    Lineker us and the 80s

Complacency it was on behalf of Carter. Just what he was playing at allowing Kendall to go and talk to another club with us so close to making history will always remain a mystery. There's not a chance any Liverpool manager would've been given the green light by their board to talk to another...

Things you have completely wasted money on

These are possibly my two big wastes of money. Started putting a bit of timber on when I got into my 30s so joined a gym paying £40 a month. Times I went in the two years I was a member...0. Also bought my first Everton season ticket in the summer of '95 and had one ever since. Trophies won...

    Lineker us and the 80s

Many reasons have been put forward for our double failure of '86 but something that rarely, if ever, gets mentioned is why the hell in the April did Carter allow Kendall to go off and have talks and sign a provisional contract with Barcelona whilst we were right in the midst of fighting our...

    2024/25 David Moyes

I was firmly against his return, and made myself clear on that here and elsewhere but he's made me eat a huge slice of humble pie, and it tastes good. The last 3 results in particular have certainly answered our 'let's have a new manager everytime we don't win a game' brigade on social media.

    Scottish football

Yep. When I was a kid everyone adopted a Scottish team and nearly everyone went for one of the Glasgow ugly sisters so I went for Aberdeen just to be different and yes them being the top side in Scotland at the time may have had a bit of influence!

    Scottish football

Aberdeen have been my pet Scottish team since the mid-80s so nice to see them put one over those ynwa singing beauts.

    Manchester United

So as I predicted yesterday on this thread, the answer to the problems at United with this buffoon Ratcliffe in charge is to put more good people who work at the club on the dole so they can pay clowns like Onana 300k a week. What a disgraceful man and club...

    Manchester United

The usual answer to any problems at United thesedays under Big Jim is to axe a few more tea ladies so they'll be feeling rather nervous for their jobs right now.

ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Today is the 36th anniversary of them doing us in the '89 FA Cup final but their fans aren't arsed reminiscing about that as on social media they're instead busy giving us reminders it's 30 years to the day of our last trophy success. They really are strange breed indeed.

Match Thread Newcastle 0-1 Everton, Sun, 25 May, 16.00

It would be just hilarious to help deny them a CL place after seeing loads of their fans on social media earlier in the season rubbing their hands at the prospect of sending us down on the last day. Hope our lads leave their flip-flops at home and do it as I'm another Blue who can't stand this...

New Everton Owners: The Friedkin Group

I literally don't care if they don't attend any game as long as they run this club far better the disastrous regimes we've had in the last 30 years. Whether TFG pitch up at games or not is of no importance to me.

First and last games at Goodison

Because of coming from a non-footballing family and being fairly skint as a kid, I never stepped into Goodison Park until I was a teenager despite starting following this club as a 7 yr old so have memories of the 80s glory years despite not being at any games. First game, 19th September 1992...
