He might represent that right now, but let's be realistic. He's started less than 10 games so there's no guarantees about how we'll all feel in a year's time. Schneiderlin, Walcott and Davies looked good to begin with.
Garner's done well in recent weeks, but it's by the standards of a team that is 17th in the league. We're just so starved of decent players we elevate anyone who can find a pass in midfield to being potential superstar.
Shown he's got something the last couple of games. Hopefully with more fitness he'll have a bigger impact.
Could be vital in Wolves and Bournemouth games where we have more of the ball.
It would be exciting if we had all these young players and we were pushing for the Champions League places but we are in 19th facing relegation.
You need to lower your expectations of these players and where we are as a club right now. We are so far behind the likes of Brighton and Brentford...
Garner and Onana is the type of midfield you could try out with 5 games to go if you're in mid table. You're not going to get Dyche playing them together away Brighton or against City.
Good first half but faded badly in the 2nd. Likely Dyche will bring Onana back in to try and disrupt Brighton.
It's a tough call because I don't think we'll have much of the ball but Garner could be crucial when we do have it.
The only problem is that I've seen this written about pretty much every signing we make. At some point, we need to start buying players who are the catalyst for a better team and not ones who might improve if only we had different players to play alongside them.
Worth noting that in Tom Davies' first season plenty thought he was the answer to our midfield problems for the next 10 years. No one has seen enough of Garner to confidently say how his career here will pan out.
A lot of the time he has played I think he struggles to impose himself on the...
Got to earn the right to dictate but him, Gueye and Iwobi didn't do that. Right now he's a Championship level player getting used to the top flight while recovering from an injury.
Thought he was absolutely anonymous second half. First half there were a few tidy touches but didn't get a grip of the game. Doucoure will replace him next week.
Can't see him keeping his place next week. Barely noticeable on the pitch. There's a big difference playing in the Championship to the Premier League and he is still adjusting.
A few nice touches/moments but thought he looked well off the pace of the game. Second half especially when we got the absolute runaround from their midfield.
Saturday is the perfect chance to give him a start. If he doesn't play against Fulham at home with Doucoure out, it's hard to see at what point Dyche will put him in.
Obviously it's not the lad's fault how it's gone so far but there's 8 games to go in the season and he hasn't started a single...
