The plan has to be to stay securely in the PL and stabilise us to the point where midtable is an expectancy. Along the way to achieving that we have the no small task of bedding in a new stadium to make our home. A takeover of huge proprtions could come along, given the huge interest PL clubs...

That's out the window without major funding. Pie in the sky. If he gets us safe by end of Easter in the next two seasons that'll be a hell of a job.

If we're out of the relegation zone by a decent margin (4/5 points) there'd be no excuse to sack Dyche. Also, we dont know the fixtures yet. Our hardest games could all be front loaded to the first half of the season, so it'd make no sense getting shut of anyone if we were bottom 5/6 at that stage.

I watched Luton last week and couldn't believe they're in the PL now. An outrageoulsy bad outfit.

As long as people dont start agitating for Dyche's removal because we're not midtable next season we should get out of this relegation merry-go-round. After the last two seasons we have to be really humble and accept we're going to be lucky to be where Palace were this season: never in the mix...

On Forest: I wonder where they'll be if they get stripped of the likes of Johnson and Gibbs White. They have spirit, but finding your feet in the PL is notoriously difficult. B'mouth: they hit a purple patch and it saved them. But they're not a good team. I dont see the quality there. And when...

I think for at least next season we'll get a chance to catch our breath. Those clubs coming up from the Championship look like muck to me. At least two will be relegated. And for my money Wolves look a poor bet for next season. They dont score, aren't going to be able to spend, and the whole...

Absolutley mate. The last two seasons have changed my mind. Under Moyes toward the end I thought we should just cut loose and go for it...but you cant do that without Arab oil cash.

*Everyone* would accept that...for another two seasons at least. I have no idea how Everton supporters want to chance another relegation battle again after the last two seasons. They must be adreneline junkies. Count me out. I'll sign up right now for 40 points and 16th for the next few seasons.

Laughing at some wanting Dyche replaced. Then people scratch their heads and wonder why we've been dancing on the trap door for two seasons.

As many said about Moyes: he'd have been a good director of football - or certainly head scout. He could pick a player alright.

The thing about the later Moyes teams team was that - as you say - they could play. But Moyes would go very conservative against opposition he thought could outplay us. He cost us that SF against Liverpool IMO, as an example of that. Martinez came in after Moyes and underlined that those players...

It's 4 days since the season ended. I think we'll see a lot going out. I can see two from Holgate, Keane and Godfrey leaving. They simply aren't what is required. Tarkowski needs a proper CB partner and back up at CB. Dyche knows and sees that.

Indeed mate. There seems to be some on here who, incredibly after 2 seasons worth of evidenc believe we can start targeting top half again. It's fantasy. Our way to salavation is to become solid and safe. 40+ points every season for the next few seasons. Stabilise. Get that stadium opened and...

Guardiola would walk in and walk out again in 5 minutes.

I said it wasn't lour perpetual goal. But it should be in the next few seasons. We've jusy come off two seasons weorth of relegation fight. You get that because the players are not particulalry that good and our spending had tanked. That'll be roughly the same for the next couple of seasons...

We can aspire to be top half. The reality is that we're not getting there even with Guardiola in charge. Let's just be thankful we have the possibility of getting safe for the next few seasons and stabilising this club so it can get into a new stadium and attract some seriously rich investors.

    2022/23 Sean Dyche

That's all very dramatic but essentially untrue. How can Dyche or anyone else effect a return to civic dominance or even parity? Not happening until Everton get that stadium built and attract new owners with unlimited funds. To get that we need to stay in the PL...which is where a safe pair of...

I'm not talking about 'perpetually finishing there'. I'm talking about steadying this sinking ship, repairing it and moving on after we've done that. And 'surrendering the city' would be getting relegated even more than physically leaving it.

Look at the team he had to play with.
