Only very special players can be a complete MF player.
People saying Gueye needs replacing are talking out of their anus as far as I'm concerned. They know nothing about football...like those people who dont see the value of Doucoure.
The Gueye that was consistently very good last season and whose tackling and interceptions just about kept us in games to get the points we required to survive?
If we keep Onana and he starts to find his legs and plays some forward passes I dont think Garner would be required in MF. If we then deployed him at RB instead and we found a player who can dominate that FB position in the way no FB has for us since peak Digne then we enhance this team 100%...
That's the same as saying he wants the position.
CM and RB/RWB are the only positions he's played in.
Not exactly vague in his words. If Dyche wants him at RB then he'll slot in there.
I tell you this now: he wont start there next season, but I think he'll end up there by the end of it.
In...
Many's the time when players just click into a position and their career path is changed forever.
The lad has recently stated on the official site how much he enjoyed the change at RB and is interested in playing there as a starter.
Agreed.
We need a neo-Moyesian period at the club now (never thought I'd type that!). He bought and developed players to adapt to a number of positions and it sood us in good stead during the peniless Kenwright era when he owned the club.
I wouldn't argue with that, tbh.
When Coleman retires next summer we'll definitley require one. Until then I'm happy enough with Coleman starting and Patterson / Garner filling in when the inevitable happens and Coleman is missing games through injury.
LB is the big defensive problem to solve now.
Not a chance? He's already played RWB but RB is "not a chance"...despite the fact he plays there for his country and besides the fact he's stated he'll play at RB if that's what Dyche wants?
"Not a chance".
Lol.
Up against a very good opponent today and eventually worked it out.
He's a quick learner and he's making it obvious now that he should be considered for Everton at RB.
Good experience for Garner here up against Neto.
He needs to learn from these games against top players to put a mark down to start for the club in this role.
