Bad ref decisions - for and against - season 2025/26

13/12/25 Chelsea 2 Everton 0 I was at the match so didn't see any VAR issues. Ref seemed to be card shy - certain bookings for Cucurella ignored etc. Ndaiye should probably have had a pen. Ref seemed to be going through the motions. 4/10 Match Officials Referee:Thomas Bramall Video Assistant...

Match Thread Chelsea 2-0 Everton. Sat Dec 13th. 3pm

Just back. Thought we more than held our own really bar 2 clinical finishes. We missed more opportunities than they did. JOB struggled today - Keane looked wobbly - and JAck wasn't really on it. Once KDH went off on 14 it was always gonna be a case of trying to nick it - but we came up short...

    Groucho's Fact Hunt

In the 18/19th Century anyone with more than 6 windows on their building had to pay a window tax. Some would have windows constructed but board them up so no extra tax was paid. This is the reason we have the saying 'daylight robbery'. See also Clive Thomas and M Clattenburg.

    Last Film You Watched

We Live in Time - 2024 Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield. Romance / Feels type movie. Really well made and FP / AG are both excellent. Really tough subject to cover though.

    2025/26 Tyler Dibling

He's a top top talent but he's still too young for regular 90 minute action. It would be nice to be able to bring him on for last 15 / 20 mins in games we are comfortable in. Trouble is the PL is so physical and close that there's few games we can do that in. Definitely one for the future - as...

What's your very earliest Everton related memory?

Mine too. Jeff Astle. Grr. No one got any tea that day. Whole house in mourning.

    2025/26 Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Echoes of our geatest number 8 Alan Ball. I have no higher praise to give. Charly as a proper 10 - with every movement on the front foot ( bar obvious recycles) really gave the team a perfect balance.

Bad ref decisions - for and against - season 2025/26

6/12/25 Everton 3 Nottingham Forest 0 Excellent performance from the team. Forest were no real threat bar one prodded effort cleared off the line. I was there for the first time at Hill Dick.Stupendous. KDH is like a little Alan Ball. Ref had a decent game - though live he seemed to miss a...

    2025/26 Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Very talented player who is wasted as a 10. I've always seen him as centre mid. Very good in the tackle, excellent distribution and has an engine on him with pace when needed. Him and Grealish are on another level technically. Superb signing. Chelsea fans I know were gutted when he left.

    2025/26 Michael Vincent Keane

Hear hear. Keane has been our best CH this season. You are 100% correct in saying a decent right back enables our whole defence to play higher and relieve pressure on our area / goal. An overlapping left back would also help. If Garner is played at RB and Rohl becomes the player we hope then my...

Bad ref decisions - for and against - season 2025/26

2/12/25 Bournemouth 0 Everton 1 Not much controversy. Ref was a bit picky sometimes and let the tackles fly at others. 3 bookings each team - bit soft really. Still not sure why Alcaraz booked and Tim / Myko pretty harsh yellows. VAR lads not troubled thankfully. Great 3 points at a graveyard...

Fabulous win. Long way to go so chuffed for our fans who nade that journey. First win at a proper bogey ground. Defence excellent.

Bad ref decisions - for and against - season 2025/26

30/11/25 Everton 1 Newcastle 4 Difficult to be completely accurate with decisions as I watched most of it with hands covering eyes. That said - possible handball on Geordie goal line to clear our corner - which was going in - so possible penalty to us not reviewed. Barry then has ball hit him...

Match Thread Everton Vs Newcastle. Sat Nov 29th 5.30.

Shambolic. Only limited credit to KDH, Garner, Grealish. The rest were pants- with Tim showing he's never going to be PL level. Seemed drunk or drugged. No blame to Dibling, McNeil or Beto. The rest should be training all day tomorrow.

Match Thread Manchester United 0-1 Everton Monday 24th 8pm

Not just dirty - but well versed in all the dark arts - faking injury, time wasting, game'management'. Not just the players but coaching staff too. All that is poisonous with football. They don't even need to do this either cos they are a very talented team. I hope we batter them.

    Our best PL away since…

Yep. 1-5 away from home when we were struggling near the bottom and Brighton were very decent with few home defeats up til then.

Bad ref decisions - for and against - season 2025/26

You seem to be quite a pedantic cove. And not a little patronising suggesting I get annoyed at every ref decision I don't agree with. Incorrect. Are you a ref? In the context of that game I'd wager 99% think it was a shocking decision. Put up a poll and see how many agree it was a correct...

Bad ref decisions - for and against - season 2025/26

I said that he should have taken a breath and booked Gana. He panicked bebause he thought it was worse than it was. VAR didn't help him. It was a shocking decision in my opinion. There was no real need for a red. Even Gary Neville agreed. I'm also quite balanced in how I view decisions against...

    2025/26 Tim Iroegbunam

He'll need to be on his guard against 3 of the snidiest midfield players in one of the snidiest teams when we play the horse punchers.
