Match Thread Everton 0-0 Aston Villa. Sat Sep 13th. 3pm

Probably a tangible sign of progress that we’ve come away from that feeling we should have won, whereas in recent years taking anything from Villa has felt like a massive result.

Match Thread Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-3 Everton 15:00 Aug 30

Tarkowski has had a terrible start to the season. He was saved by Pickford last week and switched off there.

    Confirmed Signing Tyler Dibling

I think you're being a bit harsh. We haven't just brought useless players from Europe, we've got them from PL teams as well. Godfrey, Schneiderlin, van de Beek, Delph, Keane etc.

Sancho loan plus Dibbling to cover the right wing. Too much to expect Dibbling to play every week and consistently make a difference. He's 19 and didn't start every week for Southampton.

Looks like Sancho isn't going to Italy. Stick a loan bid in. United will be desperate to get shot of him.

If he was that would probably be our best chance of negotiating a fee for him.

This is true, but as a premier league striker, even just as a professional footballer at any level, his hold up play has got to be better. His control of a football is embarrassing.

No, but you can avoid making it 21 years of mismanagement.

    Confirmed Signing Tyler Dibling

I know it’s a divisive opinion but I think Brownhill would be a good option. Free, played in the premier league and would give us some much needed depth in midfield options.

    Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

This. Moyes and Kinnear have both commented on the challenge of bringing players in which just doesn't stack up when you look at the recruitment Sunderland have done. Everyone was mocking that Xhaka interview when he clearly didn't know much about the club, but they got him in and he played on...

    Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

The starting line up yesterday was similar to the car crash of the team that Dyche put out against Brighton at the start of last season. As soon as everyone saw the team it instantly rang alarm bells. Moyes needs to send out a team out on Sunday to try and win the game. If Mykolenko isn't fit...

Same applies to so many positions. Coleman was the only available right back last night and he needed replacing about 5 years ago. The only suitable replacement our. Recruitment team could find in that time was 39 year old Ashley Young.

    Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

They did try it for one season, problem was only the premier league did it- so players could still be sold abroad after the window had closed for English sides- it just didn’t really work. It needs uefa to change the window for all European sides which they won’t do.

    2025/26 David Moyes

There were mitigating factors- no Branthwaite, no Mykolenko meant a defensive reshuffle. A very slow moving recruitment team has left us way behind most other teams. However- Moyes compounded the problems with his team selection and game plan. There was absolutely zero attacking intent...

    2025/26 David Moyes

Moyes knows best. Barry was good enough to be playing against Barca and Madrid in La Liga last season, but Moyes doesn't think he could manage newly promoted Leeds.

    2025/26 David Moyes

If we splurge nearly £50m on Dibbling and Moyes starts talking about him not being ready or needing more time before he starts games, I might cry.

    2025/26 David Moyes

I don't fully blame Moyes, but he need to take his fair share of the blame. He absolutely had alternatives to the mish mash of a starting 11 he picked. He could have played 3 centre backs, McNeil left wing back, Garner right wing back, Dewsbury-Hall next to Gana, then Grealish, Alcaraz and...

    2025/26 David Moyes

That’s the concern. With no Branthwaite for a month, no Mykolenko and no right back, we’ll continue to see players out of position and players who aren’t good enough starting games. Pretty much every other team in the league (including the promoted sides) have significantly strengthened, whilst...
