    Confirmed Signing Merlin Rohl

I’m made up that we signed another midfielder. It’s been a weak spot on this team for several years. Gana has papered over some cracks for much too long, but we just have to get better on the ball in the middle of the field to control the game. KDH and hopefully Merlin can help bring that. I...

You’d hope too that after pursuing Tete that we have other targets and are just waiting for them to become available? Maybe Tete wasn’t the number one target and more of an opportunistic thing, but to go from having agreed to sign a RB to radio silence has been a little weird.

Hopefully they “accidentally” route the offer to Sevilla for this Juanlu guy instead. Sorry Davy, lots of moving parts but now we’re out of money, just loans from here on out.

    Transfer Rumour Tomas Soucek

Good player, I’ve always really like watching him play. He’s not a DM but he is physical and tough. But for me he’s too slow and not getting any quicker. I don’t think he should play in a midfield two. In the Doucoure role he’d be good, albeit not the profile of player I wish we were after. But...

    2025/26 Thierno Barry

I’ve said it a couple of times and I’ll say it again. He was playing 5th tier in France three years ago. Any expectation that he’d immediately flash elite level traits as a striker in his first few games in England is totally laughable. He’s improved everywhere he’s been and there’s no reason...

    Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

While I’d like to see KDH played further back and Grealish brought central (Illy, Jack, Dibling behind the ST), as of now I’m doubting we see that much from the start. We have quite a lot of evidence so far that Moyes is wanting to having more of a midfielder in that role behind the striker...

Match Thread Everton 2-0 Brighton. Sun Aug 24th. 2pm

Fantastic result. Really important to get off to a good start at HD. And the worries about injuries and out of place players is hugely eased. Garner and Tim much, much better today, and having Grealish for the full 90 improved everyone else on the pitch.

And the defensive commitment on top of it…..what a player

    Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Exactly. He was playing the equivalent of fifth tier football about three years ago. Everyone at Everton and their mothers knew he was raw. People need to relax. If you want to argue about the use of limited funds and whether purchasing a raw player at this particular junction was smart, that’s...

The fact that I now can’t decide what’s more urgent between CM, RW and RB tells me everything. It was a big job this summer but we’re in a horrible position, especially for our first season in the new stadium. I understand they had to wait until July 1 but there’s no excuse for not having more...

    2025/26 David Moyes

Had us flying last season compared to Dyche. Doesn’t totally excuse tonight, but he had a tough draw with injuries and poor recruitment. Three of our starting eleven were playing out of position out of necessity. It’s really tough. Let’s give him some time here before the knives come out.

It worked out pretty well for Onana. The only thing would be if RS is really the “club of his dreams” or whatever then he’s likely have to settle for a different PL club for his next move, but I take those comments with a grain of salt.

    Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Yeah at his age and the fact that’s he’s on a free you might be absolutely right. For what’s it’s worth I’d rather just give that spot to Armstrong, but I also won’t be complaining if it happens.

    Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Yeah I’d guess he’d be here one season. Which if we make a profit would be fine, but the club and fans should be clear eyed about it. I’m guessing we’ve totally moved on from him, but it’d be exciting if not.

    Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Typically I’d be very against signing Brownhill because I feel like the focus needs to be on improving our starting eleven to actually improve, but the fact that he’s on a free makes me soften on that. And I’m a bit worried that Gana could pick up some injuries as he gets older, especially with...

    Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Our form under Moyes extrapolated over the season would have had us in 8th place and right on the very outside looking in on European spots. And while I’m sure Moyes wanted higher caliber signings to allow us to kick on and compensate for a dip in form, our squad isn’t worse than what he had at...

    Confirmed Signing Jack Grealish

I hope so. It would avoid having to shuttle him or Illy out wide right, and gives him a lot of freedom. The big question would be what it means for KDH. Maybe he plays further back and then depending on the opposition, we go Gana-Garner-KDH in midfield with Grealish and Illy behind the striker...

    Confirmed Signing Jack Grealish

Leaving aside the other business, getting a loan like this done on August 12th is fantastic. I know it’s close to the start of the season, but it’s still quite far out from the window closing. Probably helped that he is on 300k a week and not many clubs can approach anything close to that...

    Confirmed Signing Jack Grealish

Yeah that sums things up for me. As an Everton fan I’m interested in the finances and about how things will work tactically, but also as an Everton and football fan in general, I want to be entertained and enthralled and enjoy myself watching us play. Grealish should be ace from that...
