New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Obviously the club had to put the wall in for safety reasons but you can see how it affects the stand. I'm guessing the upper part, which is huge, barely stand up during the game? I've just read that the lower part is 5,000 and the upper is 9,000. Going forward I see that as being the biggest...

New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

I was always shocked when I sat elsewhere in the ground to the Street End how quiet everyone was. Even for big games so many just sat in silence for the majority of the match. You throw a lot of those people behind the goal into the South Stand and it's bound to make for a strange atmosphere...

    6 + 2 Point Deductions

Even the other day every article I read on Chelsea being given 74 charges was clear in saying they'll avoid a points deduction if found guilty. The whole of football just shrugs it shoulders when they continously flout the rules. Farcical stuff.

    Barry Vs Beto

From what I've seen, their games seem very similar. Barry might have a bit more about him with the ball at his feet but at this stage I think Beto is probably the better one to lead the line.

Match Thread Liverpool V Everton 20th September 12:30

Liverpool being 1/2 to win must be the highest odds they've had for an Anfield derby in years so at least we're doing something right.

Match Thread Liverpool V Everton 20th September 12:30

Hopefully we can at least ask some questions of them defensively, but I'm not sure we'll get enough of the ball to be able to do that. I'm confident we'll keep it respectable but there's just too much fire power for them not to get 3 points. Changing to 5 subs a few years has helped the likes...

    dyche thinks

Can't see him doing well managing a team that's expected to win every week while dominating possession.

We all know how he'll play next Saturday though...

    Today’s Football 25/26 Season

Unfortunately I think it's just far more likely they just start to play well. These first 4 games where they haven't been great are exactly the moments where you need them to drop points. The fact they've still ground it out doesn't bode well.

It was a pretty blatant penalty though?

    Today’s Football 25/26 Season

Unfortunately they're very good and if you pile the pressure on as much as they have they'll usually find a way. So much quality in their squad in the attacking third. Arsenal are going to need to be very good to get near them.

Remind me of United growing up in the 90s. Always find a way.

    2025/26 Michael Keane

We were on the front foot for most of the match, which doesn't suit his game, but he was very good thoughout. I've no idea if it's down to Moyes but he has looked so much better than he ever did under Dyche.

    2025/26 Dwight McNeil

There's been enough moments for us to hopefully get as much as we paid for him, but in all honesty I think he's a really poor player for this level. Under Dyche, everything went through McNeil and he it was to the detriment of the team. Enabled him to bag a few goals but made us look really poor...

    2025/26 Tyler Dibling

After the derby there's 3 decent games to get him involved in. For me it's actually nice that there's no real need to throw him in there and make an instant impact like we'd have done in recent years.

    2025/26 Jack Grealish

Imagine Baines playing just behind him. Mykolenko can be a decoy run but you'd never actually want Grealish to pass the ball to him.

    2025/26 Dwight McNeil

Anyone looking to the bench today wasn't screaming for Mcneil to come on. I was very surprised he didn't go in August. The longer he stays the more I think his value diminishes.

New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

It could go either way. Some big wins against the like of Liverpool and United will go a long way to helping the atmosphere, but a season of nothing would just leave us in a bit of a rut.

    2025/26 David Moyes

For me there just wasn't an obvious sub to make without us losing something that we already had on the pitch. Personally I would have brought Dibling on for KDH and shuffled the front 3 a bit but that's when I'm in Football Manager 2005 mode with no actual consequences for my actions.

    2025/26 David Moyes

Thought you couldn't pin blame at Moyes today. Could Dibling or Alcarez have provided a winner more than Grealish or N'Diaye in the final 10? Maybe but I'm not convinced. Tough game against a side we've struggled against and we weren't far away from edging it.
