Art

I have no artistic skills what so ever,I struggle to draw breathe at times, though I do like a bit of culture,I have attended ballet, opera and theatre and when visiting different countries/cities I do try to visit somewhere interesting

I don't want to talk about it but I do like the occasional walk around a gallery.
I appreciate anyone who can paint especially.
I was quite good at it in school but have never really bothered since
I suppose when you already know how to do something then it's not necessarily something that you persue. I haven't got the imagination to draw from the mind, but I can from a Photograph. My wife enrolled me in a local art class because she rightly said I was buying pencils, paint and brushes before learning how to do it.

One of my uncles could copy any picture to perfection but couldnt "freestyle" draw or paint, which I always found rather odd

I don't find it odd because I'm the same. I need a reference. But if it's a portrait I can only do it in graphite because it's just light and shade, so I don't need to worry about the right hair colour or skin tone. There are probably far more people like it than you might expect.

I guess there is,I just couldnt figure out how for example he could do that with a photo of his son,to the point it was a carbon copy, yet if his son sat in front of him he couldnt do the same,it just seemed strange as it was the same image really,so is there a particular type of art you are looking to do,portrait, landscape, abstract?

Love Art me, not when it's given pretentious interpretations by 'critics' though, I prefer to find my own likes and see things my way.
I love Hieronymous Bosch, Gustav Dore and H R Giger but can appreciate 'technique' in portraits and landscapes etc.
Not something I've really delved into but would never dismiss it.
