Dibling did more in his cameo against Newcastle than McNeil has done in all his appearances put together.

But let’s say that wasn’t true and Dibling, too, had done nothing. I’d personally rather play the £40m, teenage nothing with vast potential according to many in the game, than the never-was who is playing with zero confidence.

To me it’s about Mcneils proven ability to get back and defend. I don’t like McNeil, he’s far far too slow for one, his body language often makes him look uninterested, but for me his selection is about what he’s gonna do going backwards tonight, the only scenario Everton win tonight is by keeping a clean sheet. We go a goal down it’s done.
