TV Series

I found the original Upstairs Downstairs on an obscure freeview channel. Although it is a little bit set based with few outdoor shots, I think it is far better than Downton Abbey. It brings back memories of Sunday evenings, getting ready for school the next day.
The First World War, and it's aftermath are excellent episodes. Could get a little dull in earlier years, apart from occasional ones like the sinking of the Titanic.

If you haven't seen East of Ipswich, written by Michael Palin, it's well worth a watch. It shows in cringing detail the horror of a family holiday in the 1950s at an out of way seaside town. The Scrabble scene is a delight. On BBC 4 tomorrow.

Got several things on the go currently.

House of Guinness (watching with the Mrs) - ready enjoying it (5 eps in I think). I know it’s mostly made up but I quite like stuff set in that era.

Fisk - easy watching. Really dead pan. Not laugh out loud funny but enjoyable.

The Chair Company - I think Tim Robinson is hilarious and have laughed out loud at some bits.

Dexter - returned to it after stopping for a long time. On series 4. Think Michael C. Hall, is allright, but pretty much all the supporting cast (barring Masuka and Lundy) are just awful which is why I stopped watching it.
