UEFA Euro 2028 - 5 games at BMD

The Echo are apparently running a story from an hour ago that the reason The Hole Punch Stadium wasn't considered for the Euros, like it isn't for any other major tournament, is because the pitch is too small.

Get on this @davek

In other news, Everton Football Club have hosted World Cup Final matches featuring some of the greats of world football and are set to showcase their magnificent new stadium at Euro 2028 while Anfield can at least boast it has hosted Taylor Swift and The Foo Fighters.

That's a sensible allocation of matches. Wembley gets eight, including both semis, Dublin gets seven (compensation for the loss of Belfast), Glasgow and Cardiff get six, and the other English venues get five each - except Villa Park, for some reason.
I think the way the fixture numbers pan out, one English venue was gonna be a game short and Villa Park will probably be the ground with the lowest capacity so from a commercial standpoint it probably makes sense.....

....either that or they've left us a date free in case Israel qualify - they love Villa Park 😎

Good news this...... assuming ST holders won't get any option / preference?

Anyone been to any of these kind of games before? How does ticketing work for the normal people?

Can anyone spot the missing word?

Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, Steve Rotheram, said: “Being part of another major international sporting event is a huge honour for our region and one we are immensely proud to be part of. UEFA EURO 2028 is not just about football – it’s about showcasing our world-class hospitality, culture and community spirit on a global stage. We’ve proven time and again that we can deliver unforgettable experiences, and I’m confident we’ll do it again in 2028.

“We’re ready to deliver the best-ever EURO in 2028. It will be a festival of everything we love about the game – its passion, inclusivity and ability to bring people together.”
