Midfield getting over ran. Need to get control of the ball again and get Jack and illy on it.

Starting to look leggy again, illy will fade so let’s see dibbers sooner.

Rohl and Alcaraz should be introduced sooner than moyes usually does. Drop KDH deeper or take him off.

The Barry miss has took the wind out of us. Cmon Dave, be proactive when it’s not happening for us, don’t wait for something to happen to us.

Gana now consistently having games where you think we should take him off for a better footballer, then he’ll get a crucial tackle on a driving player, so you think no, he’s vital, leave him on. Then he’ll have another untidy 15 minutes passing to people who are under pressure and not having any imagination with the ball and you think it’s time for Rohl, then he’ll make another tackle……

Conundrum, but we are going have to be brave with a decision soon either way.
He made a great tackle to win it back at one point and immediately proceeded to pass it 5 yards straight back to them

All those talking up Sunderland before this game: they cant even pass to each other.

This lot will be relegated.

It started well, but we were clinging on at the end of the half.
What a goal from Ndiaye!
How did Barry miss that chance?
Barry needs to learn not to dive in, now he’s on a Yellow, I’m not sure Moyes will trust him in the 2nd half.

We caused ourselves a lot of problems inviting them into the game last 15 minutes. They looked bereft of confidence after our goal and we let them get it all back.

Keane, Ndiaye and Garner looking good. Gana and Barry look ready for changing at the break if anything.

Not a bad half but mostly because Sunderland look like coming apart at the seams.

Need a big performance in midfield to win this. Step up and keep the ball.

Could that first half performance be more Everton if we tried? In the first 20 mins we take the lead, hit the woodwork, miss multiple chances including an absolute sitter to give ourselves some breathing space, and then spend the rest of the half crapping our pants and hanging on for dear life. Quite laughable really.

….very comfortable to very uncomfortable.

In control, playing well and then maybe the glaring miss unsettled us and woke them up. I’d be a bit concerned with Barry on that yellow, he’s the type to stick out a foot and get another.

Thankful for Keane in those last 20mins.
Not for the first time this season either. Keane has been our best defender by some distance.
