2025/26 Charly Alcaraz

No, you said Moyes hand were tied and they were not, everything that has happened here was a choice.
If Moyes had started him in each game up until the obligation kicked in than the club had no choice but to sign him, so Moyes had his hands tied..

Not sure how that doesn't make sense to you.

What about everything since?
OMG its like being stuck on a roundabout with you..

I cant answer what is going on since, I can only say how it would have played out before the contract signing.

I think its a mix of having to many good players in the midfield, Moyes hasn't had enough time to work out which players compliment each other and his approach best..

He is also pretty stubborn ( and I like Moyes ) so for me to say that, shows it's probably one of his down points.

Having too many good options for one area is harder than having less, when you dont have time to find the best mix.

He needs time, but Football doesn't give you time, and fans certainly don't..

Put Branthwaite a New RB and a Striker that can put the ball in the net,
And we'd be talking a different story.

It’s just strange to list off all these choices he has to make and also try to make the point that there’s nothing he can do

Not sure who these "too many good options" are?

Its baffling how Moyes has handled him.

He impressed last season, scoring big goals at Palace and Newcastle, and the vast majority of fans were made up to sign him permanently. However, there was always a feeling that Moyes didn't really fancy him.

So we have fudged it. Rather than Moyes being honest, and saying that he doesn't rate Alcaraz (I think he is massively wrong), he has sanctioned his purchase, but only for 2 years with the option of a third. He has then signed his own player, KDH (who I personally don't rate as much), and has made it clear that KDH is his first choice number 10. Alcaraz has been plonked on the bench, and when he does get minutes he is out of position on the right.

Moyes is managing him awfully. He isn't a development signing that needs a loan, he needs playing now.

He should have never signed Alcaraz if he was going to bring in KDH. We got Alcaraz for such a low fee, we thought we had a guaranteed profit, when he one day moves on. By not playing him, Moyes is absolutely killing that profit.

He's a good South American prospect, not ready for the elite level, but who potentially has a high ceiling. Exactly the type of player we should be targeting. But sadly, he isn't going to reach his potential, because as things stand, Moyes isn't playing him, so he won't develop as hoped. Which isn't surprising, as Moyes is only concerned about the next 18 months.

Not sure who these "too many good options" are?
Grealish
Illy
KDH
Garner
Gana
Rohl
Alcaraz
Tim
Dibling
Mcneil ( tho probably out the picture)

Finding which of those players compliments each other's and the rest of the teams game the best, without having gametime to keep switching until it works ( before getting hounded out by fans )
Isn't something that can be done overnight..

Well this isn't Fifa/Football Manager, it takes more time in real life.

Did I say there was nothing he could do ?
Maybe I’m just not understanding what you mean by his hands were tied.

On the time part of it: he really doesn’t get time. He’s two decades into his career and the team has very few developing players regularly playing. Also the ones who are playing are out of position. If this doesn’t end up in Europe where are we left?

Anyway this is Alcaraz and that’s one of the worst parts of this. One of your best players potential wise is not playing but we are supposed to be patient? What’s coming in a few months that will be better?

Obviously Grealish is a loan but for our own players:

Alcaraz
Garner
Dibling
Ndiaye

Are the 4 I rate with Rohl having potential and KDH out of position.

Gana, Iroegbunam and McNeil can be jettissoned in January & improvements made.

And two central midfielders rather than the powder puff warriors ‘Gana and Garner’. And maybe a goalie who is not scared to come out and claim the ball.

Everybody is on the same page with Alcaraz, you've just created a neverending conversation going back to last season and his contract situation, why does that even matter now.

If we end up going backwards, Moyes probably wont be here next season, if we end up going forwards than you will just be hunting another reason to question him.

If you want him gone so much than surely even you would want us to spend time properly sounding out a good alternative, rather than jumping the gun and grabbing a name out of a hat..
