2025/26 Jarrad Branthwaite

It's ace when we get the opportunity to write off the season before November. Go Toffees! Making fans happy since 1995.
You wrote it off in July.

Very worrying for a young lad to have these types of injuries.

Not writing him off, he’s boss and a big unit of a lad. I would write off seeing him until March / April though.
Yes I think this season's basically a write off for him. We should plan to be without him, and then ease him back gently from the New Year onwards, unless we're in relegation trouble in which case we might need him for the last 10 games. This may end up a positive if we can actually sign 2 or 3 good young players to play alongside him, O'Brien and Dibling. If we could just get 5 or 6 players at that level, I could see progress, but given our track record of signing duds I won't hold my breath!

People who blame the players for injuries and not our typically very useless medical department or paid professionals are very weird people.

Get well soon, you are missed JB.
Tarkowski had surgery and is back playing. Branthwaite had a different treatment regime, relapses and now has surgery. Looking at the medical department is fair enough.

Don't forget the Finch Farm pitches

It just seems we constantly get this routine of a player coming close to returning and then finding out we farted around for months and they need a surgery instead.

That's a medical department issue but I don't know anywhere near enough to question them.

Far from it. I wanted Keggers out on the proviso that we get in an apt replacement, either a young promising CB from the lower leagues or an old stalwart. I never wanted just rid with no one in at CB, that would have been mental

Keggers has been fine this year but CB is our weakest area on the pitch and that is down to him and Tarky not having a suitable partnership for a premier league football club that wants to win games the right way - by playing in the oppositions half. That Branthwaite is such a big loss is telling

I'd swap Keggers for most other premier league CBs right now
Exactly. Wanting Keane out and replaced by a better centre-half is what anybody who wants to see the club improve wants.

If anything, the argument that those who were in favour of keeping Keane made - that he would only be fourth choice - is what has been blown out of the water. Fortunately, he has played competently so far, but his continued presence is an indictment of the readiness of our new overlords for the summer window.
