I just saw this. I absolutely love the new digs but honestly the initial plans Meis mentions early in the clip sounded really exiting and unique and I think had Meis had his full say the stadium would have been a way more traditional looking.

But hey Kenwright though otherwise

Would have been quite refreshing to have done away with the traditional bowl shape. Appreciate that does bring in the extra revenue.

I've said this for years, but I would LOVE a big, fat coffee table book covering the whole design process.

I want to see those initial asymmetric designs that were intended as a nod to traditional football stadium design, as well as the early napkin sketches and every iteration of the design that was presented.

Interesting that initial consultations he said that Everton fans expressed a wish for our capacity to be bigger than the RS. We’re some way off that, but have a far better stadium. I’m still convinced that we have sold ourselves short with the capacity still though. But as a football stadium it’s second to none.

Good job we didn't put in a sliding roof option. The H&S people would close us down.

The max for a workplace in Ireland is 87 and action is to be taken once it reaches 80.

Similar in UK and ear protection required above 85.


I was and I suppose still am a heavy rock fan. About 4 years ago my hearing started to fail. I now wear two hearing aids as both ears under 40%.

It does run in the family so I'm not blaming Kiss!!

Mind you, Motorhead at Dalymount in 1983 were probably the loudest I've ever heard. I actually left the pitch and went under a terrace to get away from the sheer noise. No idea how many decibels but I've seen Kiss, Maiden, AC/DC, Sabbath and none of them were as loud as Lemmy and the gang.

The club have already proved that the capacity was just right, any extra would have been swallowed up by the awful seat unique packages. All the top Clubs are shying away from season tickets now.

I went to an invite only do at the RLB and was told that the club has 6 concerts lined up for next summer and are all signed and sealed.

No matter how hard I tried they didnt let anymore slip.

Now that they have the licence agreed they can now publish the groups.

Maybe we can have a 'HDS Concert Bingo'?

I got told by someone about 2 months ago the Foo Fighters would be playing there next summer. Whether it’s true or not who knows. I’m far far from ITK on these things.
