They don't need Dyche. That team they've got are nowhere near relegation fodder. They'd effectively be giving up on that Europa League campaign with him and just settling for 15th at best. Its like when we brought in Allardyce (who was and is a far better manager then Dyche will ever be), it was massive overkill that cost us an utter fortune and set us back even further with a crappy Jan transfer window. Their owner truly has shot them in the foot here. The greatest team in a generation and he pissed it all away because he couldn't be professional with the previous manager.

Now we'll see if he can perform with better players. He has a striker there, and pace out wide so no excuses.

Bookies have them as 5th favourite to go down. 5/2, 2/1 etc. Surprised odds are so low, but then again - considering 3 go down - who would you give shorter odds?

It's all well and good saying they won't go down, but who does?

The thing is, I don't think Forest have appointed him just to stay up. They've legged Mancini, and there's a lot of managers out there so they think he's the best bet.

I figure maybe as close to Nuno in terms of defend first, and give any new fella a whole pre-season.
It’s a good point; he was given the rescue job with us over a period where you’d have to be historically bad to beat the promoted teams to the relegation places. He’s now entering the first really competitive relegation battle for a while.

If he gets them shored up at the back, and back to playing some semblance of decent counter attacking footy, such that they’re comfortably mid-table or thereabouts then I’ll begrudgingly doff my cap to him.

If they’re any lower than 12th or so with that squad, and serving up the absolute bilge I expect them to, then I’ll be somersaulting into the vaults like Scrooge McDuck.

Very surprised and not surprised by this at the same time. For where Forest were at the start of the season, it's quite amazing.

He did a steady job here but the way it disintegrated was quite alarming. Managers, like leopards, tend not to change their spots.

It's a damning indictment on Marinakis that they've had to go cap in hand to Sean Dyche. It's an appointment that says "Things may not get any worse but they won't get better either"

They have alot of higher level players who are suited to Dyche's style but they also bought a couple 20-30 million players from abroad that have no premier league experience which he'll never consider playing lol

Forest fans actually seem happy about appointing him. I get he did ok and saved us from relegation but I find it baffling that with the money and players they have, they think he’s done anything to be happy about.
