2025/26 Charly Alcaraz

Back to the Alcaraz who does my head in again today. Wrong decisions most of the time he got the ball. Incredible how he seems to be the one who drives us forward when he's the 10, but out wide he's the one who kills the momentum of attacks with poor decision making.

He just can't play wide. He's a 10 and nothing else.

I don't necessarily blame him for today, it's nothing different to what he's shown when playing wide before so I tend to blame Moyes for having him in the team in that role.

If most posters on here can see Alcaraz 10 and/or KDH left in a 3 then why cant Moyes.

TBH the man is an absolute buffoon for using Alcaraz wide. Its close to bordering as stupidity at this point.

It's an insane preference for KDH at 10. Not just Moyes, but the EFC commentators too, going on about the onus is on Alcaraz to prove his worth to the team out of position again on the left wing yesterday. He has proven himself as number ten loads of times, and yet here we are...and don't get me started with the amount of hoof-balls we're playing again. Play to the squad's strength Moyes FFS

There has been some brain dead commentary when it comes to Alcaraz. It's crazy. If anything he is one of the few players that has absolutely shown his worth in his position since he has been here. I would actually say he has been the most consistently creative player when played ahead of Doucore and has done well in the limited minutes at the ten this year. He is a 10. He has proven himself thus far.

We don’t though, we’re still playing Tarkowski, Mykolenko and O’Brien out of position every week

No but we would do if we had branthwaite and a midfield of KDH, garner and alcaraz.

I think we get a rb in January and a LB in the summer but as of now thats what weve got to work with and thats what i think would be our best midfield right now.

Our full-backs needed help against Savinho and Doku, which ended with Alcaraz and Ndiaye exhausted in the second half. The first goal came because Ndiaye couldn't return. It was obvious this was going to happen. Ndiaye's effort was exceptional. But he had a limit that Moyes ignored. Alcaraz's best ability, the midfielder, was wasted and Ndiaye was fused. A 60-minute plan.

And the manager, he’s going to set a team up to play out more often and not resort to contested long balls?

He's done well a few times in the number 10 role for us but I'm not completely sold like everyone else it's the only position he can play. Is it his main position he's had throughout his career?

He was brilliant against Brighton but I'm still not sold he's good enough to be starting most games for us.

Moyes is a defensive manager. That doesnt mean he isnt a good manager. Simeone is a defensive manager hes still a top manager.

Moyes simply isnt going to play like a man city because playing like city doesn't guarantee winning games
