New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

It was a rubbish joke.

A tree...and an old wooden ship sailing past our brand new stadium...and then making a comment about something being a long time ago in relation to all that makes no sense, whether it was about trophy winning or not.

As the saying goes: if you have to explain a joke it isn't funny.

It's the type of *joke* John Bishop would make...about as funny as a dose of anthrax in other words.

Let's hope the coverage of the game tonight spends a good bit of time getting some great shots of the stadium. Sun sets about 7pm so they should have a lot of time to cover that and it'll be a clear night.

Lots of shots into the city too, not as they've done so far of the stadium's neighbour United Utilities or that stupid 'kin sponsors name.

Not the greatest joke in the world,
but as that other saying goes: If a joke needs explaining to you, you have no sense of humour.

Dave it's just banter, nothing more nothing less, sure you and I have gave it out to them mate. Roll with it.

Its the difference between us and them entitled, delusional meffs Dave, we can laugh at ourselves and they cannot. Lets face it, any blue who can’t laugh at us, is probably in pretty poor mental health after the past ten years or so we have had to endure.

TBH I cant really laff-a-long with a fanbase who's caused utter murder throughout Europe....for almost as long as that galleon's been going.

^^^*banter*^^^^

Any sign of big uses of the stadium outside of football?

The Rugby Ashes are being played there next month, and the Euros in 2028.

I think it will take a while to get big musical acts in, certainly the mega ones. They're booked in years in advance and they'll likely not be booking until a stadium has cleared all safety certificates. Last thing you'd want would be another Co-op arena shambles.

Not looking forward to exiting the stadium tonight (Turnstile 2) and merging with the West Ham Fans as they are exiting. So far no issues with Brighton, Mansfield and Villa but this could be a very iffy indeed.
